About The Saint: Abyss of Despair

An ex-priest who believes the Evil One lives in him becomes entangled in a nightmare scenario when he travels to Africa to investigate an alleged demonic possession. Guide this tortured soul as he works feverishly to solve a horrifying supernatural mystery and save the life of an innocent child!

Nicknamed The Saint for how he devoted his life to God after a Bible stopped shrapnel from piercing his heart in battle, John hopes to somehow help his cousin, who lost his wife to African fever and whose daughter has been behaving strangely. But the moment he steps onto his cousin's sweltering estate, he begins seeing strange things and blacking out for hours on end. Soon, the young girl speaks of "She," an ethereal presence he's angered with his arrival. With each location you explore, each hidden object you find, each character you encounter, and each puzzle you solve, you'll not only move toward a shocking revelation but also piece together a cunning solution.

Compelling and highly playable, The Saint: Abyss of Despair will draw you in with its intense opening monologue and hold you in its grip until you've experienced every breathtaking moment!

Very short HO game that can be beaten in an hour and a half to two hours without hints, the only reason I've got more playtime than that is idling for cards. Pros: - Steam Achievements and trading Cards - Low Price Cons: - Too few Hidden-Object puzzles. I think there were like 6 actual HO puzzles - No fast travel, but honestly this has the smallest map I've ever seen in a HO game - Poor instructions on Non-hidden-object puzzles. - Lots of back tracking - While the story was easy to follow it was pretty poorly written. - No replay value easy to get all of the achievements in the first run in around or under 2 hours. It's been well over a decade since I remember playing a game by this publisher and while the artwork quality is about the same (though I'm uncertain as to when this game released) the quality of this game is one of the worst Hidden object games I've ever played. No QOL features, like 6 hidden object puzzles that take 30 to 40 seconds, maybe 8 other minigames, Nothing unlocked after beating the game, no replay value. Voice actors didn't match up with the characters they were portraying and so on. The only real positive things I can say about this game…

Good little game. A couple of HOGs had two of an item. A Bag and a Hat. Sometimes things would not respond properly.

All things considered, for an hidden object game, this one has a few things going for it. The music is excellent, and little touches like animations in some of the locales are good. The attempt to incorporate African culture/myth is fairly unique as well. That being said, there are issues. Some of the voiceovers are terrible - I'm looking at you old man who wants soup. Several of the puzzles are pretty obtuse, and at times you have to be very precise with the mouse clicks. That being said, in all it is worht a few hours to play through. 7 out of 10 ancient African demons.

I really liked the story and the setting in this one. It's a little on the short side, but that's ok since it's so cheap

A pretty okay game. Its really simple and the minigames and HOS´ are pretty easy. There is one minigame that is a bit hard but still not hard to manage. All in one is the game and the story pretty ok. The voiceovers a re mostly pretty bad or not really normal. Its kind of recommendable.
