I have a soft spot in my heart for RPGMaker games, so here's another of them! Good story, good hero, cute game. Kinda short and I missed a few things just due to getting a little bit pulled through by the story, but overall very fun. Definitely recommended if you like these kind of games like I do. :)

Nice rpg in typical fashion. It has a bittersweet story. The characters are interesting, and talented fighters. I recommend playing this game through as the ending is worth it.

While there were a few gameplay bugs that prevented me from finishing a quest and getting all of the secret rooms, I did enjoy my time here in Galehar! If you're a fan of games like the Aveyond and Millennium series, you'll probably have about as much fun as I did. I picked this up for 99 cents on a Steam sale and I think it was worth a few dollars (and hours) of my time. Is it the greatest RPG Maker game? Heavens no, but was it awful? Nope! I've played games that were half as unplayable as this one. It's basic yes, but sometimes that's what you want - just a simple story with a nice ending. I give it 6 Harolds out of 10.

I've played a lot of smaller scale indie/RPG maker games, some of them are bad or totally generic but this one stands out as having had a particular amount of love put into it. The story is a relatively standard arc about you Jerrat the farmer having your farm destroyed and family killed, and setting off on a journey to bring the people responsible to justice. You'll meet many other party members along the way that join your quest for various reasons, and I have to say I took a liking to most of them. I appreciated the game gives you a lot of customization options in terms of forming your party with the members you want and being able to allocate bonus points upon leveling up to give you a further degree of control over your statistical spread. The game also features a pretty varied amount of side quests, some more compelling than others but none that stick out as just padding, some of it was quite fun! I'm glad the game also rewards you for exploring with items and stat boosting items littered on the landscape and in one of the 30 secret rooms in the game. I wouldn't say it's that grind heavy but I think if you want to enjoy all the side content you may have to put in some time …
