The Unexpected Quest

The biggest problem with The Unexpected Quest, is that it is advertised wrongly. The developers of The Unexpected Quest might well have been inspired to create a game after playing Warcraft 3 and The Settlers, but The Unexpected Quest has almost nothing in common with said games. The Unexpected Quest in actual fact has a lot more in common with the time management genre such as the 12 Labours, Weather Lord, Golden Rails and Rescue Team games and if you like those, then I think it's fair to say you'll like this. The Unexpected Quest is a more advanced type of game compared to those stated above, a few examples are... 1. The gameplay area isn't just a static single screen, it is much larger. 2. To defeat enemies you don't pay resources to a hero to go and beat them up, you actually hire troops that have health bars, that if taken care of, stay with you through the level. 3. Rather than abilities that are on a cooldown, you collect/make single use potions and powerups, and also have an inventory so that you can carry some over to use in later missions. 4. Rather than the goal for each level being to exit the map, each level has a main objective and multiple secondary objective…

This is a really fun game to play. Need to figure out certain levels before you just jump into it.

Its a fun little Strategy game to play with a small story attached to it. Point and click game basically except for map movement. Dont worry if you cant get 3 stars on all the levels , cause you can always go back and do them again and then get the 3 stars when you have better weapons. It is very short though, but i had fun playing it.

A wonderful relaxed and funny game! Which one can get lost into for quite a few hours. The pricing is also suitable within my opinion, for what is offered too. Especially if its 12.99 euros! Or else just get it on sale. The story is neat, sadly no voice acting just a bit of grumbling and mumbling. The maps and puzzles are fun too! There is also some challenges for those who want to, even if there is four. And the story exist out of eight chapters.

Found a demo of this game a while back while looking for an RTS to scratch this little itch I’ve been having and I gave it a go, and thought it was okay. Something that would be perfect for the app store if it wasn't filled with crap and ads. And after playing the full game, I was surprised how much I was enjoying myself. Lets get the story and presentation out since there’s not much to talk about. Plot is just some guys get shipwrecked and end up on a quest to deal with a necromancer and ends on a meh cliffhanger. The art looks fine. Bit generic but everything was laid out in a professional manner. Although the human characters are clearly using the same with different bits for the different units, I wouldn’t be surprised if the other races did that too. But hey, if you're going to be cheap, best be cheap in the places no one will notice. Now for the gameplay. Starting with the size of the maps. I was a bit disappointed that there were only 8 levels and 3 of them were already in the demo. But when I got to level 4, I was actually impressed with the scale of the map since the first 2 levels didn’t need scrolling and the third just went up and down. The fourth level actually …

I loved this game. I felt it was really short, however. The main game took me about 12 hours to complete, but had i been better at the game, it's probably about 8 hours. I definitely preferred the main story to the "Tales" DLC. My only gripes was with not really being able to rely on my workers to do jobs unless I very explicitly told them which meant I need to scroll around a fairly large map constantly. I couldn't set workers to stay in a specific area so sometimes it meant a worker would leave a place I had activity needed done to go do something on the whole other side of the map. This is generally what made the Tales DLCs a lot less fun for me since in the main game story, you still can take your time for the most part, but all the Tales require you to work VERY quickly.
