About Dungeons & Kingdoms

Kingdom Building, Villager Management & RPG Adventuring

Dungeons & Kingdoms is a medieval fantasy strategy and RPG hybrid. Take control as leader of a small group of refugees fleeing from an unlivable homeland. Make landfall in a new world and start a new life. Build everything yourself. Or lay down blueprints and give orders to your loyal colonists. Build infrastructure, manage needs, gather resources, farm crops and hunt wild animals. Do whatever it takes to survive.

Then dive into dangerous dungeons and face the monsters within. Explore every room, test your combat abilities and defeat the dungeon bosses to reap the rewards, unlock new resources and advance your tech.

Start From Humble Beginnings

Forage and farm for food to keep your villagers alive. Craft tools. Harvest resources to build shelters and early buildings to advance your economy. You'll need to brave realistic full day and night cycles as you live through the seasons and gain valuable skills and knowledge.

Expand Your Village

Upgrade and construct unique buildings through a modular building system. Mix and match over 100 unique building pieces, with more to come during early access. Create buildings from scratch or make blueprints that you can edit, improve, and share on the Steam Workshop.

Master Terraforming

Sculpt the terrain and make it hospitable for your new settlement - Flatten large areas for farming, raise or lower platforms for building plots, fill in valleys, dig out moats and trenches. Paint lush grassy and forest areas or remove vegetation to make room for more roads, buildings, and people.

Fight for your Kingdom

Take on the dangers that live outside your walls. Hunt wild beasts to feed your villagers and protect the roads from outlaws and raiders in third person action RPG style combat. Protect your people, defend your lands, and project your kingdom's power.

Delve into Dungeons

Discover ancient ruins and temples, then face the monsters within. Explore every room, test your combat abilities and defeat the dungeon bosses to reap the rewards and advance your kingdom's tech

✦ AI summary

Players acknowledge the game's potential concept but express serious frustration with its current state as an Early Access title that feels more like an incomplete demo. Common complaints focus on severe bugs and poor polish—confusing progression systems with locked content, clunky menus and tutorials, worker AI that frequently gets stuck or stops responding, and inventory management issues that can make basic tasks like crafting nearly impossible. Some players note that recent updates have improved things since launch, though others remain skeptical about whether the core design and usability

I went into this Early Access release expecting rough edges and missing systems, but what’s currently available feels far earlier than what is typically implied by “Early Access.” At the moment, the content on offer barely reaches demo territory. After setting up an initial campfire, most progression immediately hits a wall, with core buildings and mechanics locked behind “Full Game only” labels, which is confusing and frustrating for a paid release. Performance and usability are major issues. Menus, tutorials, inventory management, and combat all feel clunky and unpolished. Workers frequently get stuck, stop responding, or require constant manual resets. Basic interactions like gathering resources, crafting tools, or even having NPCs function through the first night can fail outright. Bugs are expected at this stage, but the volume and severity here significantly impact playability. The scope also falls far short of what the description and trailers suggest. There are very few building options, little sense of progression, missing blueprints, vague unlock systems, and no meaningful narrative or structure to anchor the experience. At its current price point, it’s difficult to jus…

I saw a video on Instagram, advertising this game. It looked like a fun concept, but i was a bit cautious. I think we all have seen these videos online promoting a video game that doenst even really exists yet.. but as i went on Steam, i saw this game already was in Early Access. Then i saw the reviews, which are mostly negative and i was sceptical again. But then i realized two things: 1. most of the negative reviews are from December 2025. The game was launched in November 2025, so these reviews are all from about one month after Release. And 2. Since then, there have been a few Updates to the game, some quite big. Then i had a question: Maybe these old negative reviews are not valid anymore? So i bought the Early Access Version and here is my verdict: Its not as bad as the comments make it seem. Its definitely Early Access with some problems, but it runs and you get a rough look at the building and management aspect of it. Obviously, there is some content still locked, but you definitely have enough to build a basic settlement. And a few other 'problems' make it slow and clunky (my character changed when i loaded back in, cutting down trees is slow, building is a little …

This game looks like it has a lot of potential, but just going through the tutorial is annoying. Just trying to craft an axe. "I don't have a simple axe handle" Ok, craft one. "I don't have a simple axe head" ok, craft one. "I don't have a simple axe handle" Where tf did the one I just crafted go? Ok, I'll find it or just make another one. Find/craft new axe handle. "I don't have a simple axe head" wtf. By the time I finally managed to craft an axe, I had crafted like 5 or 6 handles, and several axe heads. Then there are moments where things seem to lock, and I can't move at all. Figured out I need to reopen one of the menus I had open so I can start moving again. Annoying when you switched through several different menus, so then you have to open and close each to figure out which one will let you move again. Sometimes pressing esc works, sometimes it doesn't. If just trying to start out is this annoying, I'd hate to see what the game is like when you start getting into more advanced things. The UI is a little confusing too. Opened an inventory thing that surrounded the character. No clue how I opened it. The items you hold is confusing too. It seemed like I could hold items of d…

Generally a yes but: - Wait until you have more content and the gameplay is really refined. There are UI changes and more explanations needed in regards of steering free cam, Building, overall movement. The potential is there. AI movement was good, good graphics and easy assignment of jobs. I wonder, how you would progress more.
