Thief’s Riddles First, I want to extend my thanks to SP GAMES for sending me a copy of Thief’s Riddles to try out. The concept is interesting—you play as a criminal now working with the police, stealing from other thieves and criminals. The store page promises a good amount of content, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t match the presentation. The game feels messy and inconsistent, almost as if it was stitched together without refinement. The controls are clunky and unintuitive, making even simple actions feel awkward. Thankfully, button prompts are displayed on screen, but the input layout itself is uncommon and takes effort to adapt to. The lockpicking system is easily one of the most frustrating mechanics I’ve encountered. The tolerance for success is absurdly narrow—off by a millimeter and your pick breaks instantly, with no buildup or feedback like you’d expect from Fallout or similar titles. Worse, there’s no reliable way to get more lockpicks mid-mission. I was soft-locked on the second level because I ran out and couldn’t progress. Lighting is another major issue. Interiors are pitch black, and while you do have a flashlight, it only works about half the time. I had…
