Bought early access to support the devs and waited for 1.0 release before starting to play. Three months later it's abandoned. Well played.8 found this helpful
Really great impressions-style city builder. Campaign can be very difficult at points but love the artwork and atmosphere. Has a bunch of cool mechanics that seperate it from other Impression-style games.2 found this helpful
I really wanted to like this game. Even if you play the full tutorial, nothing will ever work right. This game is fundamentally broken. Everytime I play this game, there is some new issue that makes absolutely no sense. The game just doesnt work. I kind of love the concept of this game so much, but it honestly deserved no marketing. Maybe finish the game before release. That's kind of what indies are supposed to do. This isn't 1.0 for anyone lured by the sale like me.2 found this helpful
Although I believe that every game has its own differences and features to keep us playing, Tlatoani: Aztec Cities puts some other ideas, too. As you may all know, it features Mesoamerican theme... Of course there are some other similar themed games, but I think they are not quite deep and challenging for me to keep playing the game over and over again. Also, religious system has some fresh ideas in the game because you can't just sacrifice to keep people happy to appease specific deities. I struggled at first, but turns out there are much more prominent needs. I experienced that the game wants from us to to play with realistic and organic layouts by giving divine favor bonuses for building symmetrically fit plazas, temples and other beneficial buildings. Because I think simple grid-spamming is an old idea, I put this feature to the top of the list. In the end, I simply recommend the game if you want to experience Mesoamerican setting instead of traditional Mediterranean or Asian.1 found this helpful
A thumping improvement on every impressions-style builder to come before it.
I wouldn't recommend it in the state it's in.
