"Tobit" is just a low key asset flip.. the quality of the sometimes mismatched looking assets is suspiciously much higher than the actual game is, and that's a glaring mismatch. Who's going to create a bunch of high quality assets and then phone in the actual game? It doesn't add up... unless you consider how easy it is for anyone, even people unqualified to make games, to get any and all the game assets they want. The game is essentially a kitbash of assets made by other people, poorly assembled by an amateur developer. These projects are usually rushed through Steam Direct as fast as possible, and the lack of professional standards means the end result is something no gamer should waste their time on. This is not even really a game, it's more of an interactive "art" exhibition, except there's no art, either. You walk around and look at a bunch of Unreal Marketplace environment assets while a voice over bashes you around the head with some bible tract garbage. Whether we may or may not agree with the cause, it's my firm belief that religious propaganda, evangelism or indoctrination of any kind has no place in gaming. It does no service to gamers at all for skewed, narrow mi…

Tobit Positives: + Good enough graphics and light effects + Nice nature and landscapes + Relaxing (without the voiceover) + Good background sounds and music + The voiceovers performance was ok (not including what he read and the quantity) + Its free Negatives: - Its not possible to turn of the voiceover or the subtitles - The whole bible text reading thing was just a really bad idea - The reading is far too freqent and really annoying and tiresome listening to - Because of the text reading, it ruins a lot of the atmosphere and enjoyment of the game - The bible text has absolutely nothing to do with the gameplay whatsoever - Extremely slow walking speed and no run function - All you do is walk, there is nothing to collect, pick up, or special things to see/explore - Weird "ending" - Invisible walls - No jump function - Locked to 62 fps - Some bugs I cant believe what they were thinking including bible text reading in this. I have nothing against religion per se, but when its so misplaced like this I cant stand it. It ruins so much of the otherwise nice and relaxing atmosphere. And even if they did include it, have at least a sound option to turn off the voiceover. I dislike it so…

It's a beautiful picture, but there's nothing to play. It's just walking, with minimal interaction and emotions.

Already out since 2019? I cannot remember if I have this 'game' since then. I now attempted to play it through to the end. But once I pressed 'escape' after 15 minutes or so, I am not able to press 'continue'. So, my only option is to start over, which I will not. I already attempted this game for 3 times. The water and trees could have used a bit more work. Even in 2019. And some mountains do not fully render. I have seen (free) test engines with better quality on those fronts. The story telling could have been done with more passion; as it is a bible story. The quick summary says it is an engaging forest you are walking through. Well, I have not noticed that. You can hardly walk away from the default path. A lot of blind walls. Some parts are nice tough. So, they give great 'screenshot' moments. But besides that, I am bored by the story/narration. While I am not a believer, I can still enjoy those stories. Just not in the way presented in this 'game'. If you want a better Walking Sim yourself, like I did... Go to Dear Esther or something similar along those lines.
