Thumbs up because I think it's a pretty decent game. That said, it doesn't do anything especially special. Not much here for seasoned twin-stick roguelike veterans except for a fresh coat of paint on a functional system. Pick it up on a good sale and play it for 5-10 hours or more depending on what you can get out of it. It's charming.3 found this helpful
It's honest, super polished, and fun. Gameplay is pretty tight, responsive, fast and most importantly, very fun. The bullet hell is fair, and I've seen no issues with hit detections or visual clarity. This is the most important point and why I recommend it, everything else is secondary hehe. The animations are well-made, and graphically it's very competent. Enemies are varied enough and pretty balanced, you can evade their attacks but all of them offer threat, and if you sleep for a millisecond you get hit. The sniper character is way more powerful than the other two, simply because you can hit enemies off-screen with her standard weapon. Boss variety is very limited, you get 1 boss per map, but some are minibosses that repeat, so the game really has 4 unique bosses only. The meta-progression is poorly designed and takes too long to unlock, and the upgrades are "meh." You have 3 slots, but I only unlocked 2 and the game was already over so whatevs. Weapon and upgrade variety are really weak or take too long to be unlocked, some weapons/upgrades are borderline useless, while others are essential, even if these are in the same rarity rank. Although some are useless, the ones t…1 found this helpful
Fun for several runs, but it gets stale and repetitive super quickly. There's way too little variety between the runs. Enemies don't drop anything worthwhile - just gold and extremely rarely a weapon or some upgrade cards for your passive skills (you only get one per stage and sometimes from bosses). Some achievements are insanely grindy or luck-based for no reason. On sale it's worth it. ~10h of gameplay until it gets boring.
Not fun
