The game closes itself in Ascend and Descend gamemodes after playing a single song, I tried 3-7 minutes custom songs, Casual, Medium and Intense difficulties and 1 default song provided by the game that lasted less than 2 minutes. Not enjoyable experience having to relaunch it every time.3 found this helpful
This old game is a real shame. A match-3 where you can load your own music and matching to the beat gets you bonus points is such an easy win of a game that is unfortunately let down by its beat detection being absolutely horrible. I don't say that lightly, I don't like slandering old games like this and I genuinely only review games I want people to try (hence the recommendation) but it is really bad. If you can stomach it, this is a weirdly one-of-a-kind game on steam. The modes and powerups are fun and it is pretty challenging, and not just because it's hard to play to the rhythm when even the game doesn't know what it is. It's worth a shot.

A lot of games have tried to incorporate rhythm and music into their gameplay as an inseparable part of it. On one hand, we have stuff like Rez, Lumines, Tetris Effect, and Bullets Per Minute that perfectly incorporate rhythm into their gameplay. On the another hand we have stuff like AudioSurf and Melody's Escape that give you the power to play with your own music, analyzing them thoroughly and giving you satisfactory results... and then we have Turba. The store page claims that Turba "provides a gameplay experience unlike any you have encountered before" and that is %100 correct; you probably have never seen such an awful implementation of rhythm into a video game. Though it is not the idea that has problems, the game's features have ultimately resulted in it becoming an unenjoyable mess. Turba claims that "the blocks on the game board generate and move to the beat of the song you choose", yet it is not true. The game utterly fails to analyze your music tracks properly and detect the beats, making the gameplay feel like you are playing a generic puzzle game with a random, irrelevant music playing in the background. Even if you do manage to find a music tracks that works great wi…
