Umbrella Corps

I booted up the game on Steam, but didn't launch. And that's probably for the best. 0/10

Resident Evil Umbrella Corps is probably one of the Resident Evil games I enjoyed the least. I went into it hoping for something really fun and fast-paced, but unfortunately, it didn't really feel that way to me. One of my biggest problems is that there isn't really much of a storyline. The game is much more focused on online multiplayer and competitive gameplay, and I personally wish there was a lot more to it. I wanted something that felt more like a traditional Resident Evil game instead of an online shooter. It's also supposed to be a fast-paced game, but honestly, it felt pretty slow to me. There were moments where I expected the gameplay to be much more exciting and intense, but instead, it felt like everything took longer than it should have. I tried to give the game a fair chance, but I just wasn't really a fan of it. I'm still trying to play it because I only have one achievement out of around 41, so I still have a lot left to do if I want to complete it. But honestly, playing it can feel more like a chore than something I'm excited to play. What can I say that hasn't been said? This is the greatest PVP/PVE game of all time, the maps all take advantage of the game's unique mechanics, the zombies make a great twist for the PVP modes, combat is so fun with lots of playstyle choices, and the soundtrack is just amazing. Me and my 4 friends will surely be playing more of this every Saturday night as we remind the world that this game is actually deserving of the best Resident Evil game of all time. Thank you for reviving the series, Umbrella Corps.

While the game was extremely lackluster, there is some polish underneath a sea of undercooked game. This game if a second one could be made, could learn what had extremely poor areas and fix them. Gunplay, surprisingly okay. Headshots are satisfying to pop. Melee is kind of meh, but we could add Resident Evil 4's remake's melee upon on a second release in a way to improve it greatly. (Zombies just go down after a single hit and don't get back up?) Movement is extremely rough and underdeveloped, and transitions for animations for cover. You can tell this is by far, it's weakest point. (Doesn't feel satisfying to move while standing or prone.) UI is a strong point in the gameplay, but needs further refinement. (Zombie radar? Needs extreme work. Pays little mechanic to the gameplay.) One mechanic was pretty smooth. (The zombie shield was a interesting gameplay point that felt like John Wick and was pretty satisfying.)
