Contagion

This game... Every now and then I return to it - mostly solo - and sink in its atmosphere and pacing. The few times I've had friends to join - it was some of the best coop out there. Contagion is a zombie shooter that isn't arcady but neither is overbearingly grounded where you have to manage a myriad of extra systems like hunger, weight or temperature. It's raw, a clunky, clearly undercooked, but I'll be damned if Contagion is not one of the best zombie games I've played. And I've played the bunch: from Resident Evils and Left 4 Deads to niche ones like Terminus and Into the Dead. What Contagion lacks in comparison to most good zombie games you know, it makes up for in droves with how the 'oh shi' emergent situations that are borderline movie-like in their nature. It just gets zombies, gunplay, and atmosphere so right. The devs didn't slack on it either throughout the years: there's a ton of maps and modes with a varying degree of randomized routes that makes them very replayable. Pretty solid and good game, it is very fun to play and the zombies are really also for you to kill, tons of different weapons for you to adquired and it has split screen, I played a lot with my wife in a mode where we would play against each other and had zombies together, really awesome.

Sold zombie game 8/10

I'd describe it as something between Left 4 Dead & Payday mixed with some F.E.A.R and Cry Of Fear. Lets start with the pros: -The lineup of weapons and tools is diverse and full of solid sidegrades and usefull items with minimal bloat or reskins. My favorite item is the crossbow with retrievable ammo but slow reload. -Similarly to Payday & some extent Left 4 Dead, every round is unique with variations like randomized starting loadout, reandom spawn location, random loot and enemies though key items, level layout & objectives do not change that much. -No plot armor. Once you're infected, you're infected and have to play Guess Who against the survivors using features like zombie blending to act like a NPC in hope they will let their guard down. -The maps and settings look really good & are well optimized. -The free comic included with the game is a nice addition. Cons: -Movement is slow and sluggish. It would be more fun to have unlimited sprint with maybe the downside of sprinting having a 25% chance of alerting a horde every 30 second and some zombies sprinting faster. -Sometimes the game will play your own footsteps sounds even when standing still or even with no nearby zo…

I do not suggest this game, the dev's have abandoned it a while back and honestly it needs work still, if a game is abandoned the way this one was it shouldn't be pay to play it.
