Gameplay is rooted in classics like MegaMan, Metal Slug, and Sunset Riders (but with adorable unicorns) and an absurd plot inspired by classic cartoons like Rick and Morty and The Simpsons.

The Unichrome prototype was originally created in just 3 days as part of WGJ 28 with the theme "Rainbow Unicorn". The original prototype had only 4 levels, each of a different color: purple, brown, blue and white. There was only one boss fight originally at the very end. Due to its popularity, it was determined to take this on as a full-scale project. The current team consists of only one person Super8bitRafa (lone developer). The game is currently still being updated weekly.

A fun platformer that's short and sweet. Beat it on Switch and am playing through it on Steam now. The gameplay changes between levels following repercussions from the plot, and I found that keeps the gameplay fresh. Some bugs persist with the audio and visuals, but the gameplay makes it worth a play. My best advice is don't neglect picking up collectable coins and the coins dropped from enemies. There's always something in the store to spend them on.3 found this helpful

It's like retro NES' "SEA CONTRA"! But instead of playing a sweaty Rambo-wannabe you get to control a quirky rainbow unicorn carrying guns bigger than herself!2 found this helpful
This is a fun and funny game and is overall a good time! Visual effects and combat overall feels very satisfying and levels are really well designed. My only critique is I wish momentum carried with the grappling hook, however its still totally manageable and fun.1 found this helpful
