Time well spent. A top-tier story, game mechanics that are deeper than the previous titles, and characters who each have their own distinct personalities. If you took your time to truly immerse yourself in the first two games, I’m certain you’ll be left with the best possible feeling once this one concludes.1 found this helpful
I finally completed this last chapter 17 years after my first encounter with the utawarerumono anime. The vibe in Mask of Truth is far heavier, almost suffocating at times, compared to the 2nd game - mask of deception.
In the original first game, the fight was simply for survival. But that was older gen's war, the world is settled now. Yet Kuon and everyone have still been through a difficult journey, and even sheltered under the grown-ups' protection and the great power Kuon inherited, the younger gen doesnt have it any easier.
The quality of this game is impressive.
Peak jrpg visual novel
9/10 A satisfying(I cried) end to the Mask duology! Much like Deception there are some pacing problems but other than that I enjoyed from start to finish. I feel the combat a slight improvement over Deception but still very much a side grade from Prelude, at least co-op chains are in this one.
If my girl and Touoe Gekiha were both drowning and I could only save one you can catch me at my girl's funeral decreasing ATK on the first hit, taunting on the second hit, and spending 50 zeal to activate Drawn Sword Stance.
great story
