This game absolutely nailed it. The combat is tight and satisfying. I love how different weapons completely change how you play. The story aspect is what got me hooked. Coming back to the vault after each chaotic run and talking to people, it adds so much weight to everything. Most roguelikes just throw you back into the action, but here you actually care about getting back home and learning more. The progression system feels rewarding too. You're always working towards something, whether it's unlocking new stuff for your vault or trying different character builds. What the actual ♥♥♥♥. I bought this game because I like the genre and because it looked like bootleg Fallout, but to call it that would diminish the title. It is a genuinely great Bullet Heaven / Survivors game, with tangible upgrades, 20-minute runs, neat characters and a better-than-expected story with 3 endings, all of which are impactful.
