As someone with knowledge in the medical field, I knew what I was doing for the most part. This game would be hard for people who are clueless. Also, they score you off of textbook treatment, not on realistic alternatives we see and use everyday in the ED. The game is not updated so it is good for fun, nothing more, nothing less. I recommend this game for people who have knowledge and know when the game is dishonest. I do not recommend this game for people who are not versed in medical knowledge and seek to further their medical understanding as this game is misleading in its review of cases.

Vital Signs: Emergency Department, developed and published by BreakAway Games, is a serious medical simulation that places players directly in the role of an emergency room physician. Rather than presenting a dramatized hospital narrative or fast-paced arcade-style gameplay, the title aims to replicate the complexity and pressure of real-world emergency medicine. It focuses on clinical reasoning, prioritization, and time management, offering a niche but immersive experience for players interested in realistic professional simulations. The core gameplay revolves around diagnosing and treating patients who arrive in the emergency department with a range of symptoms and conditions. Each case begins with an intake of vital signs, medical history, and presenting complaints. From there, players must decide which diagnostic tests to order—such as blood work, imaging scans, or specialist consultations—while interpreting results carefully to determine the appropriate course of treatment. The game challenges players to think methodically, balancing caution with efficiency. Misdiagnoses or delayed treatment can negatively impact patient outcomes, reinforcing the importance of thoughtful deci…

Too hard and no tutorial on the medicines, if you are just a gamer and not in med school, good luck. I still give a good review because its an interesting game but it needs a proper tutorial on the medicines and procedures.
Warning: In-Game Cash Shop This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
"Vital Signs: Emergency Department" is a basic, badly made medical quiz game, mostly menus rather than anything else. You're presented with symptoms and present highly spurious medical diagnosis in response, rinse, repeat. This feels like Two Point Hospital is a more reliable guide to medical analysis. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs…
