Volkolak: The Will of Gods is a 2D Soulslike Metroidvania in a dark Slavic fantasy setting. The action takes place in the Far-away State, a vast, rich world of medieval times for exploration. After the ominous curse of the necromancer Koschei the Immortal, its inhabitants go mad and turn into evil. The protagonist will have to fight his minions using a deep combat system.
"Volkolak: The Will of Gods" is a vast world inspired by Slavic mythology and folk tales. A dark fantasy universe as an interpretation of the greatest fears of ancient man. The gloomy atmosphere immerses the player in the unusual perception of Slavic legends as we are not used to see them.

- In werewolf form, you can gain additional abilities through the altars of pagan gods, and with some mythical creatures you can strike up a dialog and gain valuable information.

This game actually surprised me tbh. Thought I’d drop it instantly, but the Slavic setting is so hype. Sick project, huge W for the devs!
Thought it’d be a tedious 2D Dark Souls clone where you die to every single bush. Turns out it's way more accessible (still had to sweat a bit though). The story is easy to follow. As someone who usually hates this genre, it really clicked for me.
Expected the worst, tbf. Thought it’d be another "Slavic fantasy" cash grab with janky animations. But the quality is actually top-tier. I’m not even a fan of the genre, but I’m loving it. Combat is intuitive and the visuals are stunning. The world feels alive and grim af. Huge props to the authors.
Found this in the demos section. Back then it felt kinda short, but you could see the potential. The devs went all out for the full release. The combat has way more depth now, and they added a ton of cool goodies. Totally worth the buy.
Been following the development for two years. Met my expectations 100%. Hyped for the next part of the story.
