Warp to Sector One

Big open abstract galaxy. A rather nice looking explorey, tradey, shootey, game with a terminal aesthetic. Fast and quite funky. Combat is stancey, but it's got enough thinking in it that you do have to make choices. If your vaguely familiar with star-map games this is a neat one. Don't play the tutorial maps through they will bore you to death before anything happens.. Learn the basics then get out and get to the Open Galaxy were things actually take off. = Feedback for the developer. Open Galaxy is very fun. There's clearly heart and effort put into the presentation. It looks good. But the new player design needs heavy refinement. The tutorial is functional, but puts the player into a very boring scenario. You really need to get the player into the open galaxy then give him an adaptive tutorial that talks you through things as you discover them. This lets him do things he wants to do and enjoy your game while still getting an education over time. Give him a broad objective (warlord is good) but let him discover his way through getting there with some open ended guidance tasks (Make 10k, Find Friends, Buy a new ship) I frequently lost track of what the Tutorial wanted me …

I recently had shoulder surgery and was lamenting my inability to game. Then I found Warp To Sector One. An old school mouse driven keyboard game that is outside my normal wheelhouse. It's challenging AND fun. Simple, but not easy. Frankly, I had forgotten how much fun these style of games can be--when they are good, And this one is. Well worth adding to your library,

Addictive, nostalgic, beautiful UI, kind/responsive solo dev, many different ways to play, decent balancing, and already a lot of content for an early access title. There is a lot to like about this empire building sandbox.

Clean, clear, an amazing stage for the theater of the mind with an outstanding soundtrack (I would like to purchase seperatly, dear dev!) - may this game prosper and grow like my stellar empire!

I really like this one...all kinds of retro flair, and it is as hard as the Trek games from early home computer days. The first mission is challenging, and gives you a good taste for the things you need to think about while playing the game. I liked it so much I bought a second copy for a friend!

Great nostalgic game with a retro feel, relaxing music and a simple, yet engaging gameplay loop. Dev is very responsive and attentive to detail, helping solve early access bugs very quickly.
