Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 558: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ (7/10) [i]Werewolves: Haven Rising[/i] is a solid, straightforward read. You play as one of fifteen young werewolves born in Haven, a government-run internment camp designed to control and monitor werewolves. The story follows your struggle to survive, navigate the social dynamics of the camp, and confront the moral and ethical dilemmas of being hunted simply for who you are. While it doesn’t break new ground, the narrative is surprisingly fresh with a good plot twist at the end. Your choices and stats matter quite a bit, as well. However (and this is purely a me issue), I did not vibe with the author's prose at all. It’s technically solid and descriptive, with clear attention to character, but I struggled to feel invested in the cast. The vibes comes off as somewhat YA, and the characters lean heavily on archetypes—Hakem is the brute, Bly the hothead, Jolon the lone wolf, and Dena the sweet one. While not perfect, I found the story compelling and while there are some obvious areas of railroading, allowing the replaying of chapters from checkpoints was a great feature that more visual novels using this engine could learn from! It is quite short, but it's sweet and generally speaking the choices you make do feel like they matter. With earlier choices coming up later, often in some very fun ways - and they feel like they're effecting the events outcome. For the price, it's easily worth it.1 found this helpful

Great story and it leaves you wanting to learn more. I love the werewolf lore in this game. The characters are really well written and the romances are done really well in this game. 10/10 and would recommend buying it at any price1 found this helpful
