I still have my mother. And maybe that’s why this hurt so gently. Because I already know what loss sounds like when it enters a room. I’ve said goodbye to my father. To the father of a great love. To friends, to relatives. To animals who weren’t “just pets”, but soul companions who carried me through the dark. This game doesn’t scream its grief. It listens. It asks what we would give for one more moment. One more sentence. One last quiet understanding. The puzzles are thoughtful, but the real challenge is emotional. It holds pain with empathy, not spectacle. And when it ends, it doesn’t leave you empty. It leaves you seen. Some games entertain. This one sits with you.

When I first played Where Time Ends, it wasn´t the end of time, but it was indeed the end of the time where I hadn´t played Where Time Ends. This is a very tiny game that takes place in a small garage, where you play as a son who wants to build a time machine to see his mother again. The controls are as simple as possible, with basic movement and interaction using the left mouse button. Objects that you can interact with are easy to spot because they gain a white outline when you move the cursor over them. The main objects in the game are three tools placed on a board. If you want to use a different tool, you must run back to the board and replace the one you are holding because you can only carry one tool at a time. Everything else requires you to hold down the left mouse button and drag items around the garage to their correct locations. Items will snap into place when you are close enough, so precision is not necessary. The steps you must follow are shown in the diary, accompanied by helpful images.
