Disclaimer: I've backed this game on Kickstarter. The following review is spoiler-free. Currently I have played through the wisdom path. I'm really glad how the game turned out. The art is very cute and it is obvious that there was put a lot of love into the game. The voice-over was really good too, as well as the characters and the story. I like the concept of learning different skills and having to strike a good balance between them. Sometimes it felt a bit random what kind of magic would be needed next, but receiving hints through divination kind of helped with that. A few negative things that I encountered: 1. The flying and potion brewing minigames are a bit wonky The flying minigame happens like 4 times at most. Failing the minigame also does not seem to have much consequence. So it feels a bit wasted to put points into "Maneuvering" which I think is the primary way to increase speed. "Levitation" found good usage in the game, but "Maneuvering" and "Performance" felt kind of useless. I think it would be cool if the flying minigame could be given a bit more depth and the flying magic too, Regarding the potion brewing minigame, the rating outcome of the different ingredients …
Good:
- Artstyle - Storytelling & writing - Voice acting - Music is great and doesn't get repetitive, though it could use a fade-in. - Character design - Dialogue choices. They seem like they matter, and they sometimes actually do. And it's great because there's no real way to know whether they do matter or not. There is some kind of karma system, though I only noticed its effects once - maybe it's used more on other routes.
Bad:
- Minigames. Minigames are introduced unintuitively, and there's a huge chance you won't be able to complete them first try. They're simple though, so you'll be fine on the second try. The potion brewing is big on this - you are given absolutely zero chance to feel how filling the cauldron actually works, so you'll try to stop at the line and you *will* overflow it. This is multiplied by the fact that every ingredient appears to have a unique tween time. As for the flying minigame, the first time I tried it, I wasn't too focused at the top of the screen, so I missed the controls instruction and messed it up the first time. But maybe that's just me. - Study choices: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly The Good: Study choices matt…

I've only just started playing, but the game is SUPER cute. Really scratches the itch for raising sim type games. It's kind of incredible how polished it is too, the animation in the backgrounds is really astounding.

Wholly enjoyed playing through. The art was amazing, music very fitting, and the story was admittedly very ridiculous in the beginning, but hooked me in soon enough. A lot of the characters were lovable and it was a very cute atmosphere. I wish I could have made more use of the other skills I learned, since I feel like I barely scratched the surface. I felt like I was being forced to raise specific skills to progress the story and I didn't have as much freedom to explore as much as would have liked. Also, some skills can be used in ways you wouldn't have thought to use them for! Really keeps you on your toes about what to put your points in. Potions were a little wonky too. You only get one try. Misclick and you've only dribbled the ingredient and you're forced into the next one. The ingredients also continue to flow into the cauldron after letting go of it, so you have to let go a little earlier to make sure that you hit the line. I've just resorted to having a save file ready *just* before a potions minigame so I can go back just in case I mess up. Keeping in mind that the game is in Early Access, I hope that the devs will implement some kind of afterstory mode where I can…
