About Wizard Fight!

Wizard Fight! is a bullet hell game, i.e. a game where the enemies launch a massive barrage of slow-moving projectiles at the player. Test your visual tracking skills by gracefully dodging each bullet (but don't worry, there's no insta death feature in this game like others). The foul Orange Wizard and his wife Angela stole the holy grail and it is your quest to reclaim it! To do so, you must collect several keys scattered around the map, defeat the enemies before you, collect powerups to become stronger, and finally venture underground in order to get back the holy grail! If the difficulty is too great, you can collect coins from fallen enemies to purchase items from the mysterious Secret Shop which increase your strength and attack power. It is said that the Secret Shop is hidden somewhere underground in the grassy field by some trees. This game employs the bullet time mechanic! Too many bullets to dodge? Feeling overwhelmed? Press C to activate bullet time, which speeds up your player's attack speed while slowing down the rest of the enemies to make dodging bullets a cinch. For me, it takes about 15 minutes to beat the game from the start menu to finish, but I could probably go faster if I skipped collecting powerups. How fast can it take you? Test your skill by speedrunning Wizard Fight for unlimited replayability.Contains retro midi bgm composed by me on my Yamaha keyboard for that 90s PC gaming vibe! The game features easy, medium, and hard game modes. The difference is that hard has more enemies and a menacing, indestructible sun which incessantly follows the player wherever they go 🌞😨.I was inspired by Touhou and other old arcade games which I have enjoyed greatly to make this game. I also hope that you yourself find it enjoyable as well as challenging!

Wizard Fight! is a compact indie bullet hell experience that fully commits to old-school arcade action and fast reflex-based gameplay. Instead of relying on lengthy storytelling, deep progression systems, or cinematic presentation, the game strips everything down to constant movement, projectile dodging, and survival against overwhelming enemy attacks. It feels heavily inspired by classic arcade shooters while replacing spaceships and futuristic weapons with fantasy magic, pixel-art monsters, and dungeon-themed environments. The result is a straightforward but entertaining action game that succeeds through simplicity and solid gameplay fundamentals rather than innovation. The gameplay revolves around controlling a small wizard trapped inside dangerous arenas filled with enemies firing endless waves of magical projectiles. Players must survive by weaving through dense attack patterns while eliminating enemies and progressing deeper into increasingly hostile areas. The controls are extremely responsive, which is essential for a game built almost entirely around precision movement and reaction speed. From the beginning, the mechanics are easy to understand, allowing players to focus …

Lucky me gets the dubious honour of reviewing "Wizard Fight!". Wizard Fight! is definitely a runner up for one of the absolute worst games on Steam. This needs to be qualified, there's a category of games that are bad in a malicious sense, mobile apps with cash shops, asset flips from Russia with review manipulation, games with spyware... those are very evil attempts to exploit gamers and that's a problem. So I'm glad to say this is not one of those, it's just an outright terrible, badly made game. It's a simple bullet hell game with autobattler elements ripped off from Poncle's Vampire Survivors, but there's no element of the way this game was made that isn't completely awful. If you could get Shakespeare with infinite monkeys and infinite typewriters, this is what one monkey with a crayon could come up with. We'll get into the specifics, but the point must be made that this game is remarkably amateurish and remarkably bad. The graphics, self-evidently, suck, but worse, the audio isn't done right... it's just weird buzzing and clipping noises with no apparent way to shut the sound off completely. The gameplay is probably the "best" part of this, in that it almost, but not…
