6/10 I was a little disappointed by this game. First, this game has incredible qualities. The voice acting is great and perfectly matches each character. All the characters are great, even the training robot with its weird voice. Their 2D portraits were done in a anime art-style that I really liked. It reminded me a little of Cowboy Bebop. The dialogs were funny, witty, easy to read, yet well written. But, this game is so slow that it becomes tedious. After a while, it appears evident that the gameplay is stuck in a loop of extremely repetitive content. While this filler content isn't exactly bad, the game never seems to progress. I believe this game could have been at least three time shorter. What to expect I think the game is purposely misleading. It's not a bad thing, but it's better to adjust your expectations in advance. There are mechas, but the main subject is the characters. You live with them, you appreciate their colorful personalities and sometimes you learn snippets of their history. In short, it's the "slice of life" genre. 70% dialogs, 15% roaming the town and doing jobs (=short mini games), 15% mechas fights. The fights are too simple both in their difficulty and…

Wolfstride is a slow burn, from movement to combat to story but still pulls you through to the end with a fun story. The presentation of pixel art and a black and white art style is confusing since it don't really do anything for world building or having the premise being anything noir, but still a different choice that makes the game unique and adds a bit of grit I suppose. The mini games feel like they are made to not be played if you would like to have economy and not be bored out of your mind, but it would leave you out of necessary upgrades where the game can pick up in difficulty making this a heavy shortcoming for me. This game is a strange mashup but mostly technically sound, middling thumbs up for me.

This game should have an overwhelmingly positive rating. There aren't many games like this. It seems that the developers gave everything they had: their wits, love, and soul. The price of the game is too low for a masterpiece of this caliber - it is essentially always on sale.

Music slaps so damn hard, Isa Penna is a genius. Canyon Bolt theme hand in hand with Cowboy one go straight to my cycling playlist. Others def gonna be used during my ttrpg sessions. Setting here is as cheesy as it gets, and I'm all here for it. Red Line, Kill la Kill, Cowboy Bebop gathered all together and gave high five to the hypertrophic beast of their own creation. p.s. no Foam Gun [spoiler]I won't kill the pig[/spoiler] p.p.s. Knife Leopard? More like Sword Panthera p.p.p.s. I agree with others: TOO MUCH running (but i managed)

This game was an unexpected but absolutely incredible experience. Nothing could have prepared me for how much I would relate and feel for the characters. The story is beautifully written, and the struggles that each characters experience are explored with care, making it impossible not to get a bit emotional. The incredible voice acting adds a lot of depth to the characters and even gave me shivers at time ! I can't end this review without mentioning the game play, it's challenging and requires both patience and strategy. While some fights (especially the optional ones) can be very time consuming, finally beating the adversary feels very satisfying. I also found myself addicted to the mini games, constantly striving for a new best score ! My only critique would be for pineapples to be a bit less tedious to grind for, as I did give up on trying to max out every character. Overall, I cannot recommend this game enough, it's one that will stick with me for a long time and that I'll definitely replay !
