first of all to all the negative reviews for a game that literaly started early access just days ago, settle down. One review complained about a bunch of mechanics without realising how to actuallu control the ship. I get along just fine. Naturally there will be bugs, of course. And they will be ironed out. Ive spent a bit of time and can say that this game holds all the cards needed to be a fine TRADING game. with minulistic combat and a huge map, with massive potential for trading, growing crops, producing goods, selling those goods, owning PORTS, and controlling fleets of ships. The sea graphics and weather is exellent. There are, naturally some bugs which need nerfing pronto, okay. Thats fine. The simple fact that this came out days ago, means that WE are doing the testing thats needed. then the devs fix any problems that WE report. Thats how that works. I personally love the combat, very easy to work out, you dont have to fight the pirates, just damage their sails and sail off, leave them behind. The fact that if you are not careful, you can be distroyed brings an element of fear, real fear, i have made it all the way to an island, loaded to the hilt, be chased by three pi…

So far it's a great base to potentially great game. Dev's are making strides in solving base level gameplay mechanics to make this enjoyable to play. The market mechanics are pretty solid too. Once they add more islands with more products to purchase it will evolve nicely. Areas that need improvement: - Reporting bugs: A lot of early access games don't have bug report systems. Please add this or make an email available in the initial pop up when you start the game asking for reporting. - Building is still clunky and the production stuff is still needing work but the premise is really cool. - More info/control over the port/boat operators would be nice. Do they over pay for products low on qty? Do they sell when the prices are upside down? Will be a fun game to play from time to time once it's a bit more developed but I actually have hope unlike other Early Access games.

This game is pretty wonderful as an easier to manage sailing and trading game. Just like any new release there are bugs here and there but it seems a couple of the ones that were mentioned have been resolved so thats positive. I originally posted a negative review because it didnt seem the dev was responding or doing anything about them. They released an update today addressing some of the issues. So if you do notice something wrong with the game, I guess have more patience then me and post about it and allow them time to fix it. I didnt see any interaction in the forums, but no big deal since he is obviously reading the forums and getting to work on the issues. Love the game and appreciate the direction it is going.

I've enjoyed my time so far, though I agree the game is a bit slight at the moment particularly at the beginning. It's a simpler more arcadey sailing game. I gather the focus of the game is more macroeconomic, with more focus on management than in managing the minutia of piloting a ship, and I'm interested to see what that's like as I progress more. If you're looking for a sailing simulation, this is not that. I want to especially bring up the different islands' visual design as being excellent -- they each look interesting and unique, and convey very clearly what the island produces relative to the others. Piloting your ship is very simple, with all controls accessible while standing in one spot. You can deploy the sails instantaneously with a single button press (either half furled or full), and changes in speed are immediate. The turning radius is very tight, which gives the feeling of driving a go kart more than a large ship. As I said, the overall feeling is very arcadey, so this is probably a deliberate choice in terms of the game's focus. I'd love to see things like wind direction, sail plan, cargo stowing, etc matter more (they currently are not factors at all) I haven't…

I think folks have this game messed up, just a tidbit.. like anything new to anybody, it takes time to acclimate to how a concept/design functions.. with this being EA, is it rough around the edges? Heck yeah it is! But when it comes to the premise of it, I would say there is def something here worth looking into a little closer and giving a solid chance before deciding what to call it.. Bugs being present is one thing, but what it could be after a good sifting, is something quite fine here. The only combat that I see so far is very rudimentary - only naval for now (hoping to see this built upon). Besides that, you're essentially a courier of the Caribbean, a merchant, trading throughout the seas, finding the best means to profit, price-matching to the max, etc. All while keeping the pirates at bay. Many have noted they found the combat rather difficult.. Personally, I find it easy, especially when you can seemlessly man the cannons right from the helm, WITHOUT losing the ability to steer while aiming/firing! So personally I take the manual approach, creating my own artificial difficulty (adding a little to the immersion also). One last thing I'd like to point out is.. If you're le…

Not a bad game if you're just wanting to chill and play something. It's buggy and every time I save the game and shut it down i loose everything in my inventory, didn't really pay much attention to it until I lost a ton of in game currency in items and missing supplies for shipments/missions when I loaded back in, so with that being said play at your own risk. I'll update this review when/if they fix the bug.
