Rogue: Genesia

It isn't bad, but it's really rough around the edges. A lot of my issues are with sound: repetitive music, beeps when I dash, sound settings reverting every time I open the game. The equipment system isn't fun at all. There's a lot of utter crap that drops, to where I probably wouldn't bother with any of it until you absolutely had to for progression. The enemies blend in pretty hard with the background. Projectiles are so small I can barely see most of my attacks. Moves have no weight at all, it doesn't feel like you're really attacking or enemies are really getting hit. I really like the meta progression, being able to choose where I go on the map, having bosses that have mechanics. I want a grindy survivorslike that feels like I can make good and bad decisions, but ultimately I find myself enjoying upgrading my character more than actually playing the game in any way.

Quite possibly the buggiest game I have played in my life. (And I have played Bethesda games to completion.) I'm invested, and I enjoy it enough that I plan to continue playing, but Steam's question is a simple one: "Do you recommend this game?" Honestly, I would be embarrassed to recommend this game to any of my friends, so I have to answer Steam's question truthfully and give this game a thumbs down.

Very mid. Looks great, plays slow. Weapons/abilities are boring. Its alright just a crowded genre with a lot of games more deserving of your time.

I wish I could give this a sideways thumb, instead of an up thumb or a down thumb. Its a very fun, unique survivor like/bullet hell. But the one major downside is the optimization of this game. I've seen other reviews and threads in the steam forums mention the same thing, from people with better rigs than mine. There is a certain point where the enemies on screen will bring your FPS down to slide show levels. No matter how good your rig is. Which is a damn shame, cause its the only thing I find that is holding this game back from being really great.

A survivor with a little extra. Dev has added many things to keep me coming back. It is a good, albeit hard at higher levels (challenging). Graphics are fun, pace is frantic and weapons and mods cards are varied. Lots of replayability this is before the modding. Highly recommend I kinda wish my dog attacked and I could have different breeds :)
