✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the immersive experience of playing as Kyle Crane and enjoy the core gameplay, with some finding it spectacular and engaging. However, technical issues are a notable concern, with at least one player describing the game as a buggy mess, which detracts from the otherwise positive reception.

I dont remember the first game being this bad. Runs worse than DL2 while looking the same, has regressed movement and parkour mechanics or maybe its because i had to use the default FOV of 57, otherwise i could not get smooth 100fps experience (even with DLSS on Performance) Enemies just keep spawning in and overwhelming you so you have to run past them because your weapons brake super fast. Writing has also not improved from the first game. Holding F to loot every body, very fun... Having to spam Q, to see the objective that also disappears sometimes. And where the f is the master volume slider?

It starts off strong but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. The combat is really great compared to the others, but they really dropped the ball on the parkour (what the game is known for) and the story just feels really weak. To me it just doesn't make really much sense for a parkour-based game to be set in the German mountains, with really only one town that allows you to freely maneuver through it, everything else just seems like running from point A to point B, I will say however parkour does feel really nice, there just aren't many places it can shine. The entire story is basically just folks treating Kyle like a dog and forcing him to do fetch quests and errands in the name of "building trust" and has the same repetitive base formula of someone needing something to help take down the baron and make Kyle stronger over and over and over again, and the characters just aren't memorable at all. I'm just really disappointed because Dying Light 1 was very special to the Zombie genre. Maybe if I attempt to beat it later, I'd bump my score up, but for now I wouldn't recommend at full price. I'd get it on sale if you've played and really enjoyed 1 and 2, but be prepared for some…
