Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley

Do not bother unless you have a huge amount of nostalgia for the cartoons or books, especially at this price point. The art and many references to different Moomin stories are actually neat, but there's not a lot of 'em. In general, this game is light on content and gameplay, so be mindful of that if you're still considering it. Most importantly, for those looking for a cozy game: There are better options. There's really no real way to disengage from the story and just do something fun or exciting. No mini-games, no collectibles, no neat places or details to explore beyond the story. No fun allowed. You're supposed to follow the obvious clues and finish the game. That's pretty much it. The gameplay itself is mostly uninspired and feels like a chore, with mostly linear levels gated behind obtained items and solving simple quests. For reasons unknown, the devs added two mechanics: Firstly, a level-up system that has you walk into random bushes so you can progress. Secondly a stamina system that makes walking between areas really slow, which gets annoying. These mechanics are pretty inconsequential, and it feels like they're just there to make you feel like the game is doing somet…

cute family friendly puzzle game. Found the controls a little frustrating at times but overall enjoyable. Really liked pulling up signs and tipping over statues

Great gameplay, simple controls with rich story-telling. I'd say this would be a great game for younger gamers (10+) wanting to try this type of game for the first time as it is easy to follow along.

A super cute, cozy, and nice-looking game that doesn’t take too long to finish. It features a lovely story with a great message, gorgeous design, and a beautiful soundtrack. Because it's straightforward, uncomplicated, and not overwhelming with too many quests or functions, it's very accessible—even for players with little gaming experience. While the action is quite linear and the puzzles don't require much brain power, it makes for a delightful and relaxing experience overall. The only real annoyance is that some of the achievements are missable, but other than that, it's a wonderful little game well worth playing. Well Cheers to playing round two to get the remaining achievements! I also now have to research where to find these Moomin Stories for our kid!

Absolutely adorable and cozy! So many references to different Moomin Episodes!

One of the most beautiful games I ever played. What a joy!
