About Fury Unleashed

✦ AI summary

Fury Unleashed is a roguelite platformer shooter that blends the fast-paced action of classic games like Contra and Metal Slug with modern roguelike progression, set within the pages of a living comic book where ink is your most valuable resource. Build momentum by killing enemies quickly to unleash devastating combos, choose your skills and loadouts between runs, and tackle 40 boss encounters across hand-crafted and procedurally generated worlds solo or with a friend.

Fury Unleashed was created by combining inspiration from modern roguelite platformers, like Dead Cells and Rogue Legacy, with nostalgic memories of old-school platformer shooters, like Contra and Metal Slug. We have spent five years polishing our creation to make sure that your experience with the game will be as memorable as those titles and we really believe that you won't be disappointed.
Explore the pages of a living comic book where ink is your most valuable resource and each room is a comic panel. Find out why is John Kowalsky, author of acclaimed Fury Unleashed series having a creativity crisis and see if you can help him deal with it.
Kill enemies quickly enough to unleash your fury and rip through everything in your way without getting injured. Learn to play flawlessly and beat the entire game in one, epic combo!
Choose either challenging Hard mode, which will put your skills to the test - or Easy mode, where you can adjust the difficulty parameters to your liking. Go solo or bring in a friend for a co-op session. Choose your hero's skills to match your playstyle, customize their appearance or even replace their face graphic with your own!
Discover worlds created by a mix of hand-designed levels and procedural generation algorithms. Choose the best items to assist you in your playthrough and unlock permanent upgrades when you'll die for your subsequent runs.
Play through the pages of visually distinctive comic books, each with its own enemies, and overcome a total of 40 bosses. All that accompanied by epic soundtrack composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, the creators of music for The Witcher, Bulletstorm and Shadow Warrior 2.

Fury Unleashed is a polished 2D run-and-gun action platformer with roguelite progression that players praise for its fluid controls, satisfying combat variety, and engaging build experimentation through weapon and ability upgrades. The game's comic book art style, couch co-op functionality, and addictive gameplay loop make it appealing to both casual players and those seeking deeper challenge, though its visual aesthetic may not appeal to everyone. Players feel it delivers strong value and recommend picking it up on sale.

Good casual game. I am actually using this game once a week for 1h to train my 2 kids (5 and 6 yo) for video games dexterity... 2D, sidescroller, platform, shoot and loot, talent upgrade, roguelite very light with grind. Also couch coop and 2 controllers do even work with 1 player mode (one shoots and the other moves, silly, but it was a huge fun find here).

Passively played this game in co-op with a friend on their console and has so much fun I decided to buy my own copy from steam at a great discount due to sale. Game has such a unique art style, story and is simply so fun 10/10.

A fast paced action roguelike delivers a satisfying combination of shooting, platforming, and progression. Responsive controls create a smooth flow between combat encounters and movement challenges, allowing momentum to remain high throughout each run. The comic book-inspired structure gives the adventure a distinct identity while helping progression feel purposeful from one chapter to the next. Combat serves as the core strength of the experience. A wide selection of weapons, abilities, and upgrades encourages experimentation with different builds. Defeating enemies without taking damage builds valuable combo chains, adding an extra layer of risk and reward that encourages aggressive yet controlled play. Every encounter feels like an opportunity to improve performance and extend progression. Procedurally generated stages help maintain variety across repeated runs. Different rewards, enemy arrangements, and upgrade options create meaningful choices that influence strategy throughout each playthrough. Character development systems provide long-term goals that make every attempt feel worthwhile, even when a run ends earlier than expected. Level design balances combat arenas, trave…

TLDR: Fury Unleashed is an exceptionally tight 2D run 'n' gun action platformer with roguelite elements that don't require much grinding until the secret final level. An absolute steal on sale!!! I don't like games that look like flash games. I don't care if the engine isn't flash. I just can't get past it. Or so I thought. Enter Fury Unleashed. It's got the floaty looking paper-cut-out cartoon graphics, but it is anything but floaty. Fury Unleashed plays very tight. When the developers say "We have spent five years polishing our creation," you can believe it. I felt every bit of that polish in my playtime. If you can bring it, the action can be as fast, speedy, and intense as you want. There's an assortment of weapons and upgrades that all have their pros and cons--encouraging you to choose whatever floats your boat in a given moment. There's gun-fu, melee-fu, grenade-fu, super-power-fu and Mario-stomping-fools-for-instant-kills-fu. I played on the Hard difficulty. Don't be intimated. This is definitely a good default difficulty. There's plenty of bullets to dodge and yet the margin for error isn't razor thin like other titles in the genre. It's challenging…
