Monster Alchemy

I played the game for an hour before I refunded it so, grain of salt with this negative review; don't take the opinion any deeper than that. I LOVE creature collector games, like, an unhealthy amount, and this one just isn't it. I was attracted by the design decision to be able to harvest overworld materials like any survival, cram some random stuff into the funne fusion table, get a randomly generated crazy sprite, then smash a couple of those crazy creations together to get a super randomly generated nonsense monster with a bagillion possibilities; but this just wasn't it. Most of the combinations at the start of the game from the first 8 creatures all fuse into the same thing for whatever reason. The creatures fused also drop their levels back to level 1 so I fused my starter and became instantly weaker cause I thought the combination sprite looked cool, which is was not. It was a gaping claoca on a tuft of fur. The combat was whatever, pretty shallow at the start for a creature collector/battler, though I'm sure it gets more involved later down the line. The crafting was already grating an hour into it which is a sad experience. Farm the same wild dudes for goblin bacon or wha…

This was generally fun, it just didn't hook me like I thought it would. Still going to recommend because there is fun to be had just not for me.

Amazing game

For what it's worth the core package is already great. However it is missing a lot of quality of life currently, and a lot of the features that would make the game a lot more interesting are all currently still on the roadmap release schedule. Buy the game or wishlist it to support the devs, but maybe wait till the full release when this becomes a much cleaner package.

Fun monster collector, the monster creation and evolution and all is a fun mechanic. Game plays perfect on the steam deck!

amazing game! the only problem I have with it is that somethings are a bit unclear so you have to really explore and find your way around the game really doesn't hold you hand at all with anything and you won't find where to go next unless you explore everything which I understand, but for some things some hand holding should be in place, overall though amazing concept and execution of it, can't wait to play more of it!
