✦ AI summary

Blue Fire blends 3D platforming, Zelda-style exploration, and combat into a charming indie experience that appeals to fans of games like Hollow Knight and Wind Waker. Players praise the smooth performance, creative level design, and satisfying difficulty curve once you push past the initially frustrating early sections and confusing world layout. Most reviewers recommend it for those seeking a quality platformer with exploration elements, though newcomers should expect a learning curve before the game's quality-of-life features kick in.

Decent platformer, but not much more. The story is mysterious and stays that way throughout the game. There are like 10 different enemies in the whole game excluding bosses, and some of them are little more than palette swaps. The areas seem interesting and are fun to traverse through once you get some abilities. Most treasures you find however is ore to purchase bigger bags and abilities. The robes you can find or buy are just palette swaps for your character. Having an inventory for swords to pick from if they don't differ at all besides their strength level is a strange choice. I think I get what this game tries to achieve, but the execution is okayish at best. The highlight are the precision platforming puzzles called "Voids". They consist of platforms, temporary platforms, moving platforms, spikes and saws and moving through them feels great. Fitting to their name though, aside from that they are pretty empty and boring to look at. If you're craving for a 3D platformer, this is not a bad deal for a few hours of fun. But it looks pale in comparison to other games.

Feels like watered down 3d Hollow Knight, combat is super easy even on the hardest difficulty, and all the movement upgrades the game gives you make it so that you can just skip most of the most difficult platforming with just a dash jump. Some things exist for no reason, there's a ranged spell but it has no upgrades no changes and has little use when mashing is so much better. There's also a charged attack but the most use I got out of it was as a height increase with the right spirit making the already easy platforming even easier. The lore is practically 1-to-1 with it's inspiration Hollow Knight. with 3 sealed being's sacrifice keeping back a corrupted being. It's unfortunate that this game is so lackluster in so many places I think it could've been really fun if they restricted movement a little bit more instead of allowing me to quite literally fly over everything. At least I have another completed game in my library.

I Simply love this. Having grown up in the PS2 era where games like these were not a rarity and not everything was slop , i love what this game does . Not too long , exploration-based , a bit of platforming , nothing holding your hand ,with decent mechanics and good artstyle . Only complaint is that combat is a bit too simple , but I would still take this over any combat-centered action rpg statsslopper that uses Invincible Parries or Dodges as it's central combat mechanic and little else.

Pretty decent adventure/platformer game that could be described as a Zelda-like Few cons - Awfully designed final boss, so much so that I didn’t even finish the fight, and a few janky enemies that can shoot through walls causing extreme frustration trying to platform but would recommend to someone looking for something Zelda like

I want to recommend this game, but I don't think I can. The base game is fine, I actually like the gameplay even if it's a bit simple and formulaic with the easiest combat you'll ever see in a "soulslike". Where the game fails is in the details. Like giving me a bunch of different collectibles before I even have a clue what any of them do. Or making the A button the "affirmative" button in dialogues, while B is also "affirmative"... There's a character who says he's just obsessed with elevators. Then later you encounter him fixing an elevator and he tells you he will fix the elevator he is already fixing if you pay him 2400 $. At this point in the game that was pretty much everything I'd gathered so far. More like a grifter than an elevator enthusiast imo. Those are admittedly pretty minor grievances... but I just found out most of the collectibles are meant to be vendored for $$$$... unfortunately I can only hold $$, but luckily the vendor has a $$$$ bag, he will sell to me for $$$... but I can't buy it because I can only hold $$, not $$$... even though I have $$$$$ in items, and the same guy who wants to buy those items for $$$$$ sells the bag for $$$ which he won't sell to m…
