Star Trek: Infection

I really enjoyed this game, but it's tough to decipher who the target audience. As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I struggled to get into this being a horror game when Star Trek to me is epic space battles and exploration. It's a well told story with plenty of fan service to the franchise, but it's not quite Star Trek enough nor it is scary enough for big horror fans. So it sits in the middle, a perfect enjoyable stealth horror experience. I thought the crafting was underwhelming, primarily because I completed the entire game pretty much just sticking to the phaser and the Vulcan pitch. It gave a reason to explore every nook and cranny, but didn't really factor into what limited action is on offer. The infection mechanics, pinch, and phaser were always enough to get the job done. Visually, it's not a feast for the eyes to be kind, but being familiar with the developer, I expected as much. Sound design is genre appropriate and the voice acting is passable. Ferak is noticeably stiff, but that fits the Vulcan race. I've read reviews of early issues that I did not encounter aside from the requisite VR grab jank. It's not a spectacular game, but I had a good time.

I'd wait till they work out ALL the glitches. I've had to uninstall and reinstall it every time I've played. Regardless of streaming. This last time I streamed it LIVE, it froze so much, I finally gave up on playing. Awesome game, but too many glitches.

This game started off a bit slow but I was addicted about an hour in. The story just grew more and more interesting until I could barely put the game down. I love the “infection” mechanic. You can get creative with your stealth/ combat style. I AM a Star Trek fan and of course have a soft spot for an outcast Vulcan. So that may have contributed to my enjoyment of the game..

game will not work, tried repeatedly, including clean install - everything updated / verified etc.. spinning wheel showing on black screen then ctd... cannot diagnose.. no response on discussion post i did about it, no (useful) advice to be found on other discussion posts about same issue others also having.. surprisingly, cracked version works though, much to my surprise.. so playing that guilt free as i paid for a license. what i have played of the game so far is dry +dull.. could change theme / graphics and call it "Generic VR game for sunday drivers".. 0 / 10 - would not trade cold pressed latinum or self sealing stem bolts for a copy of this wonky trek.

Pretty decent game. I didnt encounter any major issues that ruin the gameplay myself. I am a star trek fan but I wasnt too sure about this one at first, Im not a horror/thiller fan, but I am enjoying this one so far.

This was a pretty okay Star Trek game. Running around a Defiant-class starship in VR is super cool, even if the whole situation is FUBB. Basically you're dealing with an alien zombieish virus that doesn't effect you of some reason, trying to keep the ship from falling apart, and figuring out why/what is happening. You do get couple of different gadgets, and a phaser to get by with. It's really plays like a stealth VR metroidvania, where you find access codes to get farer into the ship while dodging zombies/invading aliens. The gameplay felt fine, didn't have any problems, didn't even give me motion sickness. Story felt like a normal episode of Star Trek. My only problem is with the start of the story where the holographic doctor had the ability to turn off a Self-destruct, most Star Trek lore tells me ether the Captain or the next highest rank could turn that on and off, but I nitpick. I would try to go back and try to 100% it.
