✦ AI summary

Blood Money: Lethal Eden impresses players with its gritty, mature storytelling set in a realistic crime setting, branching narrative paths with meaningful choices, solid acting performances, and substantial replayability across multiple routes and achievements. However, some find the sound design lacking, the route structure confusing, and feel the overall execution falls short of its compelling premise, with comparisons drawn to similar titles that handle similar concepts better.

To be fair, Blood Money: Lethal Eden is not really a bad game. The fact that the game was set in an infamous Cambodian fraud factory, which is an extremely concerned topic especially for South East Asian people like me, shows it has great potential. However, they just didn't fully realized it. While some scenes from the camp was realistically horrifying, the sound quality (plus the lack of support background music) and mediocre acting really dropped the feeling deep and made me disappointed. Furthermore, I find the route rather confused and the playback feature was bad. It makes me feel like the game is just a worse version of Cellveilance.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the Best Visual Novels I've Played I don't hand out 5/5 reviews very often, but Blood Money: Lethal Eden earned every single star. My first playthrough? I thought I was making all the right decisions... I couldn't have been more wrong. If you somehow get the perfect ending on your very first run, you're either cheating or you've experienced a game like this before. 😉 What makes this game so special is the freedom. There are so many choices, so many different routes, and every decision feels important. Yet, despite all those possibilities, there's only one perfect ending. Reaching it was incredibly satisfying. The story had me hooked from beginning to end. The acting was excellent, the characters felt alive, and the writing did exactly what great writing should do—it made me care. And Mr. Bai? I hated that man so much I wanted to kill him with my own hands instead of letting him go out because of some cheap poison. If a game can make me feel that strongly about a character, it's doing something right. Visually, the game is stunning. The dark atmosphere pulls you in and never lets go. It feels tense, immersive, and unforgettable. Is it perfect? No. I n…

This is a game that really surprised me with how good it was. It takes a gritty somewhat realistic approach to it's story, that makes it stand out from other games in the genre. I really enjoyed the stat system that rewards you for taking actions, that will lead to different branching paths that give the game more replayability. The average playthrough is about 3-4 hours, however if you want to see everything it will be double that. There's even more ways to enjoy the game with unlocking achievements and a challenge run. For the value alone this game will certainly reward the player with plenty of content to enjoy. Lethal Eden has a great cast of characters. I even found some of the supporting cast really interesting. It certainly helps that all the actors give solid performances and the script is quite excellent. Some games have one too many twists/reveals in an attempt to keep the player's attention, this game knows how to maintain a balance and it's story is compelling enough to keep you wanting to press on to see where the story goes. This game is a must play if you're at all interested in this genre, or if you just enjoy a good drama.

So the reason I played this one was because it shares some cast from Exclusive Memory. Both have a different game mechanics. In some ways this FMV transcends the normal Drama Romance centric nature and gives it a Mature touch. I still haven't got all achievements as my primary motive was to get the Perfect Ending from the start. Edit: Got all Achievements. Its tedious for sure.

Before playing this game, I had played a few FMV games by Wales Interactive, which were fine and good in their own right, but this game is much more immersive and engaging. I have been intrigued with FMV games for awhile, but I was off put by many of the more popular games in that genre full of fan service. I do not have anything against those types of games, but that is not what I am looking for. Blood Money: Lethal Eden, on the other hand, is a much more grounded and frankly disturbing setting, taking place in a scam compound in Myanmar. The main character falls for a girl online, but after meeting in-person is drugged, kidnapped, and brought to a compound in Myanmar forced to scam others to survive. The other characters, though many fit standard tropes, have enough depth to feel believable, most dealing with varying degrees of trauma. Outside of the story aspects, the game has a pretty functional UI and a story select that blows away anything that has been put out by Wales Interactive. Touch controls are also quite good, so if you are playing this with a touchscreen, it works great. Overall this is the best FMV I have played so far (albeit I haven't played many) and I am look…
