✦ AI summary

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition receives mixed feedback, with players appreciating its world-building, visuals, and generally solid performance, though some experience severe frame rate issues after fast travel. Common criticisms include bland storytelling, generic sci-fi setting, trivial combat, and excessive fetch quests, with detractors finding the game lacks depth and emotional engagement. Players generally seem divided on whether it's worth purchasing, with some enjoying it despite its flaws while others find it fundamentally unengaging.

After attempting for hours to get into the game I have to admit defeat. This is the blandest game ever created by Obsidian and one of the dullest scifi settings of all time. Everything is safe and generic. Nothing has any depth. It is an ASD exploit engine hoping to keep the player distracted by collecting everything not nailed down. The NPCs all look like young boys on their way to Sunday school. The dialogue floats around the player’s ears but never enters, it just does not have enough mass. The extremely safe "humor" has no purpose other than to distract the player from how little the writers know about corporate culture. The combat is so trivial that the player's biggest risk is shooting themselves from boredom. Difficulty levels do very little. The plot is so neutral and safe that you'd swear it was written by politicians. The quests will have you fetching and hopping all over the place like a ping pong ball. The skill system is meaningless. In the first few hours I could overcome challenges and gain strong equipment from encounters that left me wondering why I was able to survive at my level. The economy and shops serve no purpose as I never needed to buy anything. …

Performance is atrocious. FPS stability is comparable to a roller coaster. The game chokes and rolls around on the ground at 10 FPS for 5 seconds after fast travel. 10/10 would absolutely get disappointed by this horrendous mistake of a "remaster" again.

I've really enjoyed this, the DLCs in particular have been really fun. Great world building and the maps look gorgeous. Bit fetch questy but there's enough to like it doesn't bother me.
