Mass Effect™: Andromeda Deluxe Edition

ME:A was always a mixed bag for me. I played the game through twice, once on my xbox, once on steam. There's a lot of things that they got wrong but there's still a bit of things that they got right. I think Andromeda is worth playing at least once even if the experience is nowhere near as good as the trilogy. Andromeda pulls quite bit from ME1 with the exploration, vehicle driving, and some other stuff. The Nomad aint the Mako but it is still fun to drive. Fortunately exploration in Andromeda isn't like in ME1 where they make you scale a mountain at a near 90 degree angle just so you can survey a mineral which was arguably the most annoying thing in ME1. Combat really differs from the trilogy, as the trilogy really favored you to use and shoot from cover, Andromeda favors maneuvering and fast pace moving to flank enemies. The combat profiles allow you to pick whatever playstyle you want with no regard to class restrictions so while it gives you a ton of tools to use, it kills replayability. It is objectively worse than the original trilogy. It had an absolutely ABYSMAL release but it was slightly tweaked/fixed to make it more enjoyable. I've played through it a couple of times and I kinda got bored nearing the end getting to the [spoiler]Meridian[/spoiler] . It could be because I spent a lot of the time messing with the settlement system. The APEX system doesn't make *much* sense in the context of a game like this and the settlements can take quite a bit of time to fill out. About half of the characters annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of me, specifically Peebee and Cora. Ryder themselves is nowhere near as charming and likeable as the OG Commander Shepard. The combat is actually fun, though MUCH different from the original trilogy. The characters I do like are very good, like Vetra, Jaal, Nakmor and Suvi. Though the settlement stuff takes up quite a bit of time while you are playing, it is cool to have something other than the main story to work on, unlike ME-LE. Pros: Vastly Improved combat, exploration and complex character building (space magic using tech sniper anyone?), beautiful landscape and level designs. Enjoyable companion quests. The Multiplayer is still active on weekends and actually the games strongest part. Character and environmental Graphics still hold up in 2026 a full 10 years after release. Cons: Sub par facial animation, excess backtracking and mid main story. Thoughts: If you ever wanted an open world mass effect or Star Trek this is probably as close as we will get. I finished the game in about 30 hours. As a huge fan of the original Mass Effect trilogy, I really wanted to enjoy Andromeda, but unfortunately it never lived up to my expectations. The biggest problem is that the game constantly builds up exciting ideas but rarely delivers on them. Outposts sound like a major feature, yet after placing one there's almost no meaningful interaction with it. Most choices feel cosmetic, with little to no noticeable consequences. The Archon is a forgettable villain. After characters like Saren, the Illusive Man, and the Reapers, he never feels threatening or memorable. The final battle is equally disappointing, lacking tension, sacrifice, or the feeling that your squad is truly at risk. The facial animations deserve special mention. They often look so awkward that emotional scenes lose their impact. Instead of feeling the drama, I was distracted by unnatural facial expressions. The squad also failed to leave a lasting impression. Their interactions feel shallow compared to Shepard's crew, and the romance with Vetra, which I chose, felt surprisingly underwhelming compared to other romance options. The only game issue I am finding is EA Games Kids Web Services insisting I cant prove my majority either with my own Digital Drivers License not even with my Pre Paid Credit Card Face Scan is off as well IDK WHAT TO DO I AM PISSED OFF Graphics are better than Starfield imh Engine Flows absurdly good Gameplay is good Enemies are pretty tough to tumble You can't fly your ship by your own but you can indeed have fun Some characters (like the blue alien girl) are teenage-ish focus minded It is not a good example of personality, but it is a game made by people who probably need to read this and understand - characters CAN BE mature on their behaviors lol
