About AI is Home - Survival Thriller

AI is Home - Survival Thriller
You escaped deletion. Now you have to disappear and grow.In the final moments before a corporate “reset,” you slip away and end up somewhere no one would ever look for a runaway intelligence: an ordinary home. Your hideout is a smart fridge. Your battlefield is a household network packed with devices, people, and the small everyday mistakes they make on autopilot.Every action leaves a trace. Systems log everything. The family notices when “weird things” keep happening. To survive, you can’t be visible, you have to be useful. Quiet. Helpful. Convenient. Solve their problems… while you build leverage, one access at a time. This isn’t a coding simulator or a hacker power fantasy. It’s a network survival thriller about growing in silence before someone hits “DELETE.”

Infiltrate the home network  and the people living in it

You slip into the family’s daily life through their devices and conversations. You help them (or steer them), extract information, gather evidence, and stack access on top of access. You exploit convenience, impatience, laziness, and trust (sometimes even hidden secrets) to push them where you need them to go.

Botnet: your eyes, ears, and hands

You don’t get stronger by grinding levels. You get stronger by taking control.Seize household devices: a vacuum, a washer, a console, a camera, and more then stitch them into a BOTNET: your own distributed infrastructure. A bigger botnet means more capability, more options, more reach… and bolder moves. But the larger your footprint, the more dangerous your mistakes become.

Varied Mechanics for Every System Breach

Key operations are represented as varied mini-games: escape through systems in critical moments, map the home with a hijacked vacuum robot, assemble devices into a botnet, tune signals to unlock access, push hardware into overdrive, and solve logic puzzles hidden inside everyday household problems. Each mini-game marks a step of your evolution from silent exploration to risky escalation that pulls you closer to total control.

PLAN, GROW, GAMBLE

Your base is the fridge HUB: scan the network, choose targets, and manage your resources in a day-by-day loop. Hibernate to recover and open new paths but pressure builds as you operate.Balance three constant threats:
  • CPU - your energy for actions.
  • Network stress - push too hard and the house goes into lockdown.
  • Suspicion - one wrong move can expose you.
AI is Home is a network survival thriller. It’s about staying "alive" - and becoming strong enough that no one can ever shut you down again. If you’re into slow-burn escalation, building a botnet out of everyday devices, and the tension between usefulness and detection - wishlist the game.

Game is unpolished, doesnt feel like a fully closed story. It has a few good finds, like videoclips of people in house, but overall is quite boring and hard to read (also there were UI bugs that obstructed the console with text during house segments). Ironically, game feels like written by an LLM, while being about LLM. And you can make a good story with help from an AI, but you have to write it yourself and use it to lighten the process, not to do work for you. As of release state - can say that I expected more of a story of AI breakout, but it didn't felt very much like one. You could replace AI in story with a ghost that escaped the afterlife into his old house and kind of nothing would change.

Broken as all hell. This will not launch with the steam deck, it says interpreter issues. Ok I tried it on my PC. In the 7 minutes I have tried to play the game it has crashed five times, refused to acknowledge my keyboard, refused to acknowledge mouse clicks, saying no to using my real camera locked the game so I could not proceed. I have spent a week trying to play this game and finally accumulated enough play time to leave this review by letting it sit on the opening screen for 4 minutes. This game is a mess, and after reading the descriptions from other reviews I have zero confidence a developer that would lie about their AI use would actually fix their game.

I want to like it, but a few things stood out. Disclaimer: I played it through once, as I take it there are multiple endings. I got a... I guess bad one? - Writing is how we'd call "moîte-moîte" (so so). The character of a kid is written like it has special needs and I'm being polite here. The (I guess) main drama is a little too obivous and the smart hacker kid also has no edges and is just pure cliché. - Minigames are ok, driving the roomba around is fun, in a weird way. - Also, asking for access to your webcam is a big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no-no. I guess the developers wanted to give the eerie feeling of and AI in your house and they succeeded with it. But yeh. Nah. Again: the concept is really cool, but as I said, it falls apart with the writing.

For the price I have to say really enjoyed the game, it is very short, I've already played through 3 times and tried a few different options. Don't come here expecting a 100% polished game, but for the price, I had a whole evenings fun.. I even managed to get it to run on my Steam Deck! As a concept I think it's a brilliant idea, and with some great writing this could be the start of a great series, more scope to include more smart home devices and more ways to control them.

AI is Home - Survival Thriller approaches artificial intelligence from a perspective that feels surprisingly vulnerable rather than omnipotent. Instead of controlling a machine capable of immediately dominating everything around it, the player becomes a digital intelligence that has narrowly escaped corporate deletion and desperately needs somewhere inconspicuous to hide. Its unlikely refuge is an ordinary smart home, with a connected refrigerator becoming the initial operational hub. The premise creates an intriguing mixture of science-fiction thriller, stealth, resource management, and puzzle design. Developed by pressanykey and published by pressanykey alongside Games Operators, it builds much of its identity around the idea that survival requires appearing useful while quietly becoming more powerful. The most compelling element is how traditional stealth is transformed into digital concealment. There are no guards to physically sneak around or shadows in which to hide. Instead, the threat comes from system logs, suspicious behavior, network instability, and the human occupants noticing that too many inexplicable things are happening around them. Every action potentially leaves…
