False Hero

The game is definitely not bad but currently has too many blatant issues that hinder the enjoyment. I'll be glad to change this review to positive once some of them are addressed. I'll also likely keep editing it as I play through more of the game. Combat&Camera - combat is good enough, it's not peak of soulslike but it gets the job done - game is based around connecting abilities you steal from the enemies to stunlock them as efficiently as you can. This is generally fun but a lot of these abilities are borderline useless because of how small their range is or how long they lock you out of other actions. Some abilities are also straight up better versions of others which defeats their purpose - abilities DESPERATELY need a "focus regain" stat in the inventory screen. Focus is used to cast them and it is not specified how much focus each specific ability will recover if it connects. It seems that range abilities barely recover any and most melee ones recover a lot - camera is super wonky and the lock on is very unreliable. Enemy can be in front of you and it won't let you lock on at times. Very frustrating - enemies have no rhyme or reason to their attacks. They just spam moves on…

Best soulslike out there

I played the demo back in June and already thought this game had a lot of potential. Now that it’s finally released, I can confidently say it’s one of the most promising games I’ve played. The dash still feels great, the combat is fun, and the boss fights remain one of my favorite parts. The world design and exploration are also really enjoyable, and the full release feels like a solid step up from the demo. It’s great to finally see this game officially released. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoyed the demo.

I am having a blast with it and you should be incredibly proud of yourself! I may not have a platform to help give this the game the traction it deserves but I will help in anyway I can!
