Dream Pets VR

Dream Pets VR is a case of an unethical developer abusing Valve's Early Access program. It's a very short, simple, dumbed down VR exclusive experience where you customise one of three dogs, then jump to a frisbee mini game. That's all there is to this, maybe 1-2 minutes of gameplay at most. The game was abandoned one month after launch and hasn't been updated in around 6 years. It blew past the developers commitment to complete the game without any notification or admission of failure from the developer. This seems to have been made a VR exclusive to prevent any comparison with non-VR 3D games, a comparison that this game would fail very badly at. Developers must learn that while VR is great, if the only thing that makes the game great is the VR, then the game isn't great at all. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 9 players. That's right, only 9. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Beat the game twice in 9 minutes xDDD This is soo bad.. And they are never gonna update it. Thankfully i got it in a bundle, and should probably consider removing it from my list HAHA

I got it for my kids as the screenshots looked ok. I knew it was early access but what I failed to notice is that it's from 2017... This "game" is absolute garbage. Looks like the product of someone learning how to code who didn't quite get there. There is at most 10 minutes of game time and that 10 minutes is littered with bugs. Refunding as the developer who apparently quit this project does not deserve $0.01 for this.

Pretty awful, as other reviews say the runtime is very short (a few minutes) and the "gameplay" is just a few notches above watching grass grow in entertainment value

Not worth my time and money. and network bandwidth and HDD space. and effort of putting VR on. if it was VR showcase for kids for free. then it may be in level of '...oK' but NO.

There is about 5 minutes of content. 5 year old was annoyed with how little she cuold do. Can't pet the doggy either.
