The Slormancer

It was very promising during early versions. It lacked content, but it had (and still has) soul. Sadly, it still lacks content. I tried to play again more than dozens of times, but it just don't feel good anymore. After getting the reaper you want and required legendaries, loot stops being exciting. In the "endgame" pretty much every piece of loot is now just a material to feed into nether items. You run the same few layouts again and again. This and ~30 minutes of forge, which is pretty much the same every single run as soon as build can handle it decently, the only way to not get asleep while farming forge is to increase game speed x3 at least with cheat engine. It is good for few days and may be even weeks if you are playing it for the first time. But the genre is about grind, and this grind should be fun. Sadly, now the grind in Slormancer is boring, without any exciting loot, and too repetitive even for genre. 99% of boredom, 1% of fun.

It probably isn't just me, but after playing for about 5 to 6 hours, I can't help but ask myself: when does this actually become fun? I've unlocked some skills, just finished the second area, and the core gameplay hasn't really changed at all. The grind feels incredibly tedious. When you finally level up, you get a single point that gives something underwhelming like +1% movement speed. That just isn't exciting. It’s a similar story with combat: you realistically only have two active skills on your bar. Even though you can evolve them by ranking up their mastery trees, after 6 hours it hasn't substantially changed the moment-to-moment playstyle. The progression takes way too long to get going. It's frustrating because looking at some of the insane builds people have, it seems that getting there is probably another 5 hours which I don't want to waste. I'd rather play something else.

It's a fun game, but not worth 20 bucks. It's a 1-5 dollar game in my opinion.

The game is very good especially if you get it at a discount, there's plenty to do and will keep you entertain for hours.

Very fun little arpg, can absolutely recommend. Many fun and creative builds and it's fairly easy to put together yourself, or just netdeck it online.
