What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is praised by players who get it working for its strong use of VR mechanics and interactive investigation gameplay, but it is plagued by severe technical issues including launch failures, compatibility problems with various headsets, buggy Rockstar launcher integration, and unclear control schemes that require extensive troubleshooting. Players who overcome these obstacles generally feel the experience is worthwhile, though some wish for more content and less rigid case-failure mechanics.
Doesn't work on the frame, sadly :(3 found this helpful
This game is fun and takes advantage of VR very well. I love how much stuff you can interact with and VR just fits this game so well. However, as fun as this game is. I cannot recommend this due to it not working most of the time. In fact, my game had so many issues where I couldn't even open it. I had to spend a lot of time just to find out a way to make it work. This game also requires the Rockstar launcher which is incredibly buggy. Even if it works, the controls doesn't even show the correct VR set you are on. I was on the Meta Quest 3 so I barely understood how to use the controls. I recommend Googling to understand the controls and do expect to change a lot of key binds in the Steam settings. If you do manage to fix all the issues, this game is worth your time. However, don't expect it to work the first time sadly. It's a shame and very criminal how much this game is unplayable2 found this helpful
I could never get this to launch. Everytime I tried using a PSVR 2 with the PC adapter it would come up with a weird meta quest headset error. After reaching out to support, they said this game does not officially support PSVR 2, so I never actually got to play this game. So who knows what other headsets its actually compatible with. Shame, because I enjoyed the original back in the day... buy at your own risk. Hopefully it works for you.1 found this helpful
with this game you can be the most accurate LA police officer, but in VR, see those civilians? RUN THEM OVER!
This uncanny slop of a VR title is missing so much of the potential the original game had. Let’s be real — you could drop the part where if you mess up, you can’t continue until you get it right. This game would benefit from changing a lot to be more fluid. Think about it: if you make the wrong call on a suspect or screw up an interrogation, the game should just move on and adjust to your blunder. It should be a your‑choices‑matter style experience where each case has multiple suspects who could be the right person or not, and you’d never know because the reward screen shouldn’t exist at all. The clue system is horrible for VR and not intuitive. The uncanny way people talk feels like VR was just tacked on as an experiment for a game that could’ve used a lot more refinement. There’s a ton of potential here, but right now the VR version feels like another tech demo to appease people the devs or publisher don’t even care about.
One of the best experiences I've had in VR, Enjoyed this so much just wish there was more of it. It doesn't have all the cases of the original but is still a lot of fun. Time for a sequel here Rockstar!
