About Nauticrawl

✦ AI summary

Pilot a stolen deep-sea vessel through turn-based puzzle exploration, learning its Byzantine controls through trial and error while hunted forces close in. Each run teaches you more about the cryptic machine's systems, letting you gradually uncover the secrets needed to escape alive.

In a grasp for salvation with sentinels closing in, you've stolen a Nauticrawl. You check the radar, turn a few knobs, press some buttons… then you realize

I don’t know how to move this hunk of metal...

If the pursuing forces or the crushing atmosphere don't kill you first, the Nauticrawl - designed to be piloted only by the ruling elites - just might. This instrument, your only hope of survival, could also be your demise.

With the right amount of experimentation your escape plan just might succeed. Pull levers, redirect power, hack devices, uncover communications, try anything and everything.

You've heard the rumors. You know many have died doing what you're doing. But as the corners of the story pull back and you learn your way around the consoles, you just might get off this wretched rock.

Nauticrawl unfolds through turn-based exploration, as you puzzle out how everything fits together. Begin each run anew, but bring with you what you’ve learned along the way.

Think it through. Make mistakes and experiment.

You can do this.

i reximend this game if you want to feel like a new born baby figuring out the box with holes in it and what shapes go where.

I want to like it, but it throws too many mechanics at you with little to no visual feedback on if you're doing something right or not. I'm literally getting stumped on the fact that I seem to have a battery, an engine that can only charge that battery while it's on, and then everything else instantly drains the battery if I dare to experiment with it. Thing is that nothing other than consumeable items seem to get the battery back, and did I mention you can't move without a charged battery either? So to re-iterate, the only game mechanic that outright states it gives me battery back does nothing to restore any used battery power, and nothing else in the game communicates how to get it back beyond a singular consumeable item you can loot from the start. I could bash my head against the wall and learn how to play the game by brute force, but I think I'd have more fun playing another game, and so would you. Can't really learn the mechanics on my own if there's nothing in the game to give me feedback from my actions.

Ooooh, what a fun little puzzle this has been so far. Atmosphere is great. Everything feels properly....clunky and thunky? Lots of dripping noises, alarms, steam, beeps, boops. Pretty tough so far IMO, but doesn't feel OVERLY punishing (yet). Just don't be like me and not realize you can loot storages of things you find after like, run #4. Full price seems right for the game, but the intro offer of $2 and some change is a slam dunk. Support this dev!

I very much appreciate this game! You'll need a lot of patience to figure out the controls, the game does NOT help with a beginning tutorial but will give you hints as you figure things out. I can really see that as a dealbreaker for some people but i think its worth it and a work of art.

Discovering how to play is part of the game and I loved that. While some mechanics are not as developed as they could be it ensures that you are always moving forward and finished before anything overstays its welcome. Multiple surprises await within.
