Badly random about bad luck easily ruining any run, always attacking last means you have no combat strategy most of the time. Something as simple as making your knight attack first so you can try to kill a target and negate the worst effects would instantly shift it from frustration that you have no way to actually strategize when one fire slime is about to burn your entire guy, or an ice slime freeze him all, to an instant feeling of strategy mattering more, and working around the enemy attacks. This only gets worse when there are scarecrow enemies which even with the shield spell up will instantly destroy a limb. for such a cute and basic premise, it's quite frustrating that such a little thing could've drastically changed it from a thumbs down to a thumbs up.

Stress inducing ahh game

Really entertaining short game! It's cool that even though it's simple the time pressure incentivizes you to think fast, so sometimes things seem more complex than what they are because of that. That being said, it probably has the most frustrating beginning ever. It took me 15 minutes to understand what the game wanted, but I can understand why some people would not even with hours (all the reviews about torch). The controls are poorly explained, the loop of the game is poorly explained, and the upgrades have to REALLY add up to feel noticeable at all. Again, it took me 15 minutes to understand it, but I can't see someone being confused and just not getting it for way longer. And those 15 minutes were the most frustrating thing I've ever played if you do not consider online pvp's, so I think that says a lot. Conclusion: FUN! But do pay attention to the poorly made tutorial. Like, really pay attention. Also, consider why the game is giving you some items and what your abilities mainly amount to. edit: apparently there is a manual of this game and, surprisingly, upon reading my appreciation for it has gone down. 1) No mention whatsoever to how turn down the volume, something that…

It's a super fun game that's definitely worth the full price! I got 100% achievements in under 10 hours, and trial mode took me a while, but it was great to be able to learn what I needed to do. It's a little tricky to learn at first, but it just takes a few minutes. Also, the music is really fun! A little tip, crafting the heater panels will save you. It takes a while to save up the resources, but it's totally worth the defense boost! And any comments complaining about "too much crafting" are wrong. You can almost certainly complete the main game mode without any crafting. Just be a little careful managing your time, and you'll be fine.
