Cattails | Become a Cat!

Cattails is quite a simple little game. Like many titles that feature daily in-game events and things to do that are restricted to certain times of the year, it often feels like you have too much to do and you're always rushed. But that's essentially my only complaint. I had fun with it, and if you were ever into Warrior cats, you'll probably get a fair amount of mileage here.

I remember watching let's plays of Zebra Gamer of this game as a kid, and it looked so adorable that i had to get it when i saw it was on sale. I was surprised at just how in-depth many of the mechanics are, and really love the territory control. One thing I would improve is I suppose making the mine more interesting, or simply less tedious. It takes a long time to get enough mole cash to buy the good stuff they have. But overall this is definitely one of my favorite games!

After almost 100 hours of gameplay I can confirm, it is like stardew valley but cats. 10/10

I originally played (and completed) this game on the switch, and ended up enjoying it so much I decided to repurchase it on steam. The controls feel just as responsive as the switch version's! If you like warrior cats, or grew up playing games where you'd roleplay as an animal, there's a good chance you'll like what this game has to offer, as this feels very much like that, but in a single player video game format. The customizability of your main cat-racter is good, despite it's limits, (colour palettes being premade, some being unlockables, or behind codes, which can easily be found online), and the controls are responsive, and easy to pick up. The intro cutscene/tutorial is skippable for those who don't want to view it on a new runthrough, though it is fairly quick, and doesn't feel like it drags on. The quest system is very simple, (one quest per day, one day to complete quest, usually fairly simple "bring item to this character", "defeat x amount of raiding parties", etc) but I feel as though it works to the benefit of the game, as it allows you time to still explore the map, mine, hunt, etc, in that same day. absolutely lovely game. i used to play this a lot on my laptop during the pandemic. i still play from time to time, cattails holds a special place on my heart.

I liked that we could catch our own prey but i dont like that once you have completed everything it gets boring
