✦ AI summary

Tell a Demon is praised for its engaging narrative with multiple POV characters, complex storytelling, and original 1920s-inspired fantasy world that keeps players invested enough to pursue all endings and achievements. However, some players note that the worldbuilding can feel excessive at times, and since this is the second game in a planned trilogy, familiarity with the first part is recommended to fully appreciate the connections and lore.

"His face was like an abandoned house, it's windows gaping dark, the lonely emptiness of it a thing to turn away from, to flee ━ for ghosts must live there, or demons, or broken stairways that could crack at any moment beneath one's feet, sending one falling, falling into the abyss of what was once someone's well-loved cellar, now home to a scattering of vermin and of lost and forgotten things." Have you ever wanted to outsmart a demon? In Tell a Demon you can do that and much more. It's a visual novel game set in a 1920s styled fantasy world where the world was once ruled by an immortal Empress. Then it turned out that the Empress was not so immortal after all. her own courtiers had betrayed her, but now it was a hundred years after all of that took place. They always said the Empress casts a long Shadow, and now the Shadow of a dark empire hangs over your head. Face that lingering darkness from the perspective of three characters, Julius, Kalevel and Tell, whose stories are intertwining at each corner, making you choose what their fate brings them. Tell a Demon is definitely one of the more impressive visual novel games I've played. It's quite beautiful with it's differ…

Follow three characters in an original world that’s similar but still very much different from ours. Disclaimer: Because most adult visual novels, or visual novels in general, use the same engine, I won't go into detail about the technical aspects. All you need to know is that it comes with the ability to save the game at any moment and skip every bit of text right from the start. Of course, using this feature for your first playthrough is not recommended because it defeats the entire purpose of visual novels. This game is actually a second part of a planned trilogy. While the first part is available for free from the developer’s website, the third part is still in development. It’s recommended to play the first part to get familiar with all the connections and characters. There are also several other smaller games that shine more light on some characters, but they’re not important to the bigger story. Another thing I recommend is that you turn off timed choices. If you leave them on, you will have to make a quick decision. Although this might make the experience better because you have to live with the choice, you can give yourself time if you prefer to take things slower. Th…

Very good, the other reviews do a better job at explaining it all. And why it is so good, I just wanted to post a review so the game can get a higher score, and hopefully attract a bigger audience. Buy it!

Nice, shortish, (3 hours for my playthrough), visual novel with many endings. The artwork is really well done. Ran fine, no issues.

https://youtu.be/okWMpvFh2dk Multiple point of view characters with multiple endings provides a complex woven narrative that at times bogs itself down with more worldbuilding than needed.
