About Demonheart: The Ice Demon
In this otome visual novel, you play as the young witch Shar, who was invited to live with the famous witch Eniri S'yke. Shar's host keeps demonic prisoners beneath her house and needs help controlling and using them. As Shar learns more of the house's secrets, she can build a relationship with her host's brother... or one of her prisoners.
Features:
- Female protagonist.
- Two separate romance routes with male love interests Esmius (demonspawn spellcaster) and Sirath (human alchemist.)
- Bonus romantic ending with female human Nissa.
- Important lines are voiced over.
- This VN expands on the lore of Demonheart, but is a standalone game taking place on a different continent.
Characters:
- Shar - A young witch from a tropical village in El'shei. She specializes in benevolent magic, like her mother, the Oracle of Chtaz. Shar attracts the attention of a more powerful and famous witch, and receives an invitation to become her assistant.
- Eniri - A witch respected in the big city and beyond, she is Shar's host and the mistress of her mansion. She can’t help herself from conducting dangerous experiments. Strict and merciless toward those she sees as inferior, she will try to teach Shar her views about life, social roles and magic.
- Esmius - A demonspawn trapped by Eniri and turned into her unwilling servant. He appears to take his imprisonment well, even to the point of joking and teasing others. It feels like he's hiding a deep pain inside, but Shar can't figure out which part of him is a lie.
- Sirath - The younger brother of the great witch Eniri. As a male, he can't continue the family tradition of witchcraft, but Eniri still has a use for him in the family business - mixing potions. Sirath envies his sister and her witch associates, and will keep a close eye on Shar when she joins the household.
- Nissa - A girl that Shar meets in the marketplace of the big city, Nissa acts like a bit of a rogue. She is quick to decide she wants to be Shar's friend. She will show Shar around the city, share the local gossip, and want to learn everyone's juicy secrets.
- Zhan - Eniri's family friend, he is a smith who has joined in on the business of selling magic trinkets. He will be there to support Shar as she adapts to her new home. He is unaware of the shady practices going on in his old friend’s basement.

Goodness gracious! The women in this game are freaking rage inducing! Their favorite thing is "MEN ARE BAD!!!" and everyone is beneath them. At least give us a reason why "all men suck and should only be subservient lil fs"? But there is no world building/character stuff about that! Goodness! I nearly attempted to bat the digital game at the moon after the upteenth time a critique about a guy came up! This is labeled as an "OTOME" game!!! Shouldn't you be ENDEARING the guys to us?! Why were the women the only ones ending up being useful (minus the MC that is)?! ERGH!!! As for the women themselves... One of them is worse than the demons themselves. The other one... Constantly treats Sirath like sheet... Even though it was HER OWN CHOICE TO DO THAT TO HIM!!! BUT NO. ONLY HE IS TO BLAME!!! WTF?! The only GUY who doesn't get HATE is Zhan. I wonder why that is? Hmm... What a *mystery*. Ah and the MC? She is overly naive, dumb in most cases and yet she *does have some* intelligence, and is just there for free use. Which she not only *likes*... She begs for more............... For real? Ah and everyone else has to do the work for her. She is a "Princess" after…5 found this helpful
I'm a big fan of the original Demonheart game, and I've been keeping an eye on this game and waiting for a good sale. I got it for less than $10, and I'm glad I waited. I enjoy exploring more of this world and its lore. However, The Ice Demon falls short of Rolling Crown's other games. The art is of higher quality, though more anime-style than the earlier games. The sprites don't emote very much, and there's only a little bit of voice acting throughout. The story starts out with an interesting premise but becomes rather flat, with a number of inconsistencies throughout. Of the 2.5 LIs, I preferred Esmius, but you still never know his true intentions. Sirath was confusing, because he acts like he hates you and treats you so badly that other NPCs comment on it, then out of nowhere he gets super jealous. The way his intimate scenes are also written definitely has dubcon vibes. I say 2.5 LIs because the female LI is absent for most of the game, and you need to go down Sirath's path to get the option to romance her. The GUI and settings aren't the best. No option to view CGs again (although that might be to try and get people to buy the art book). So yeah, can't really recommend this…3 found this helpful
What Demonheart and Demonheart: The Ice Demon has in common is that, they both have great storylines that keeps you guessing and wondering until the end. However, they also have one more thing in common, which is the unlovable love interests. You can complete the game and have all the achievements under five hours. It also has inventory collectibles, so if you are grinding for badges and cards, you can come here. In this game Sirath was more bearable one than the others to me. Esmius was a menace, (well perhaps he was meant to be, so good job there) and I didn't like his voice. Especially his laugh annoyed me so much (which again, perhaps was the point, if so, good job again) But overall, the story was good imo. Art is great, it was more aesthetically pleasing than Demonheart. Choices truly do matter. If anybody enjoyed the love interests or Esmius, I'm sorry in advance.1 found this helpful
I like the story. The first one was so much better though.
Lamb's games dont offer a typically nice LI's, which is what i absolutely love about them, the LIs have so many layers, and are good (relatively) under their tough exterior, which is my cup of tea honestly. I enjoyed this game to the max. everything about it is amazing, from the story to the soundtrack to the impeccable voice acting. Everything was so well done. 10/10
While the story isn't as interesting as the first Demonheart, its great fun to explore more of the lore of the world and fill in some gaps on some of the characters that appear in the first game! I'm looking forward to exploring the game more thoroughly later! I recommend picking it up on sale as its not as long/intricate as the first.
