One of the best games I've played with negative reviews on here. It's short, repetitive and has too much dialogue (which can be skipped for fairly minimal impact, thankfully), and the base price is a little too high, BUT if it's on sale for <$10, I'd say it's worth it. I suspect a big reason for many of the negative reviews is that people didn't know about the "chase" mechanic: basically, when you put an enemy into a "knockdown" state, but before they actually hit the ground, you can press the "Jump" button to have your character charge after them or straight up teleport to rack up some extra damage. If timed correctly, you can string several of these attacks together, which I found really satisfying. I will say that I overall agree with most if not all of the criticisms I've seen in the reviews. I guess I just wasn't as bothered with the game's flaws. If you're expecting an RCR game (given that that's in the title, I think that's pretty reasonable), you're gonna feel let down. There's no RPG elements, no grabs, and the Sci-Fi elements feel inappropriate and unnecessary. If you're willing to meet the game half-way, and accept it for what it is and not for what it technically shoul…

Ita very rare for me not to finish a game, and this is my first negative review But this game isn't very fun. Going back and forth between levels with no progression just to beat up x number of guys until a boss shows up isn't fun. When you're caught in a juggle, sucks that i can't get out of it. The story is a mess. The pro is that I like the teleport kicks when you airborne the enemies...

Absolutely abysmal... they should be ashamed for even making such a p.o.s. tied to the River City Ransom franchise but that seems to be where Arc System Works is taking this franchise... right down the toilet. You have to literally muck around with the windowed version of the game just to get your controller to work properly, on top of that the button mapping is terrible. If you're using an Xbox controller the A and X buttons are reversed in the menu, so if you hit X it changes the value to A in the control settings and vice versa... everything else is fine. The start button is also mapped to R3 (Push right stick in) .. yeah... like how ridiculous is this game? Usually the start button goes to the menu screen... not in this, it's R3. I had to literally Google this to figure it out and you can't re-map it in the options either. The game play is trash, you basically just do a basic combo and have to beat bosses in order to receive stars (stat points) You get 1 star for every boss defeated (there's 5 of them, all colored) you earn 3 stars for beating the final boss, so you can obtain 8 stars total per playthrough. The game bugged out on me and gave me 5 the first time I beat it... …

No real instructions on what to do in this game. If you do something out of order you can find yourself in a glitch where there is no possible ending. Very poorly designed game. No walkthroughs or guides and very little online at all if you can sit through it for over an hour. I’ve been a huge fan of the Kunio series. I love the old Kunio games and the new ones. This one seems to be purposely bad. It’s unfortunate. I’ve played plenty of worse games in my lifetime so I am going to be generous. Doesn’t mean I don’t strongly not recommend this game because it’s a disaster even on sale. 3/10
