The game is great, but the condition the PC version was released is shamelessly terrible. Performance issues never fixed by the developers make the game run worse than its PS2 version. The only fix is an external disk editor program. This version of the game is not worth your money since it requires your intervention just to be playable. Play it on a PS4 or emulate the PS2 version on pcsx2 to have an infinitely better experience with zero tweaks necessary.1 found this helpful

Still got the disc Version lying around. One of my favourite childhood games. I really enjoyed this remastered version.
This remaster is really weird. While it's still as good as the classic and has some quality of life improvements like better graphics and warping, they feel a bit hastily slapped together. Some features from the PS2 original were also removed, such as rewatching cutscenes and multiple saves. Overall, I can't go back to the PS2 version and this remaster is good
Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 is a light adventure filled with jokes and parodies of famous video games. The heroes travel to Las Vegum, where almost every location references a different game series. Some of the jokes feel a little outdated now, but recognizing the familiar characters and designs is still entertaining. The main gameplay consists of fighting Romans, exploring levels, and solving simple puzzles. The combat is fairly energetic, especially once you unlock new moves and start building longer combos. However, there are too many enemies near the end, so some battles feel unnecessarily long. The camera also chooses awkward angles from time to time. The updated version looks bright and clean, although the level design and animations still make it obvious that this is an older game. The story mostly serves as an excuse to move from one parody-filled location to another. Overall, it’s a fun but somewhat repetitive game. It’s a good choice for Asterix fans and people who enjoy old-school 3D platformers, but it’s probably better to wait for a sale instead of paying full price.
Buggy and unfinished port. Your time is better spent elsewhere.
