Inversion is a compact puzzle-platformer that takes one of the most basic assumptions in gaming and deliberately turns it against the player. Instead of relying on complicated combat systems or an elaborate narrative, the experience revolves around movement, coordination, and adapting to controls that behave differently from what years of gaming instinct might suggest. Developed by Dnovel and FreeAnimals_Software and published by Conglomerate 5, it is a relatively small production, but its unusual mechanical concept gives it a distinct identity among straightforward 2D platformers. The central idea is built around Mr. i_230, an unusual protagonist whose ability to move in the opposite direction creates the foundation for the game's challenges. Actions that would normally feel automatic suddenly require conscious thought. Moving toward a platform or correcting a jump can become surprisingly difficult when natural muscle memory encourages the wrong response.
