Dolls Nest

The only bad part about this game is that there is not more content out. This has to be the first time I played a mechamusume game, but this game is something special, like weird a hybrid between dark souls and armored core. The Environments are big mysterious and a sight to behold, lots of paths to traverse and secrets to found. The combat is again aka armored core style, a lot of modular parts, you can move fast and use light weapons or be a literal tank, slow but being able to carry the most powerful weapons, nice weapon selection range/melee. The customization is great too, you can paint pretty much everything on your character, your mech parts weapons, and even have different outfits and nice options to customize your character, just excellent. The Music is really nice too, if you are into the this type of music, silent and atmospheric sounds while you explore and high up beat music when in boss fights. Revealing the story and happened to this world was nice, the cute look of the characters hide very dark events and story behind. what else is to said, I cant recommend more this game, if you are into megastructures and exploration, this a must have. Tldr; I only recommend the game for fans of both the anime/mecha genre. If you're not into this, don't bother. Imagine that there's a fist-sized gold nugget that's buried under a fresh, waist-high pile of ♥♥♥♥. That's Dolls Nest. Not just the gold nugget or the pile of ♥♥♥♥; it's both of them. With this I mean that, yes, I really enjoyed Dolls Nest, but it was only AFTER I finally learned the level layout, understood the features, and dealt with some extremely annoying things. In a nutshell, I played through the game 3 times, and started to enjoy the game only halfway through my first playthrough (around 5-9 hours in) Dolls Nest. Did I like it and see its potential? Yes, it has a lot of that. Did I get covered in ♥♥♥♥ while digging for that gold nugget? Yes as well. Would I do it again? Now that I see what the game has to offer, yes, but I'm going to give you a heads up as to why it took me so long to like it, and why I disliked it at first. This game is truly a hidden gem that I recommend to anyone interested in classic Armored Core gameplay mixed with Demon's Souls level design.

Armored Core + Wifus... Just play it bro XD

I (mostly) enjoy this game ... and that doesn't make it necessarily a good game, or recommendable. Essentially every facet is poorly balanced. Some are just iffy, but I wonder if others were seriously planned at all, much less tested. At least half the weapons are an objectively awful choice for any possible situation - they're severely outclassed by other weapons, use vastly excessive BP for the damage, or both. Some weapons are almost literally useless due to other quirks. Bosses aren't any better. Some rely on one or two ineffective gimmicks and are at most mildly tedious, or lean annoying rather than deadly. At the other extreme, some are fast, damaging, and accurate enough to put them on the same field as AC:FA NEXTs, forcing you to build around them or "git gud". Regular enemies are mostly fine-ish, but suffer from a lack of variety. Each level gets only a few types, and each type gets one attack, and maybe one movement-focused action - like running very very fast in a circle, or leaping, often into a wall or a pit. The attack and special movement behaviors don't coordinate well, so an enemy sprinting in a circle, blazing away and aggressively missing everything…

Excellent game, I first heard of it before I switched to PC. After playing for 30+ hours, I had a lot of fun exploring around, trying to find all possible weapons, parts and items I could find. At first the combat was a little bit odd to me, but I got used to it quick. There is no music for the majority of the game, Music is only present in certain parts of the game. This I did not mind at much. The Customization in the game is great, I had a good time trying to customize my in game waifu as well as my mech parts. I highly recommend this game to those that have played Armored Core before or Dark Souls.
