✦ AI summary

Forgot is an anomaly-hunting horror game set in a creepy American household that players praise for its atmospheric design and solid collection of anomalies, though opinions vary on execution—some find the Backrooms section engaging while others feel it's tedious and padded, and the scares rely heavily on jump-scares rather than genuine tension. The core gameplay loop of identifying anomalies is generally well-received, but players criticize certain design choices like frustrating door-guessing sequences and artificial difficulty spikes that feel more tedious than scary.

Forgot is a good anomaly game. It captures the creepy atmosphere of being in an old American household with a grandfather and grandmother who are possessed and evil. The anomalies are solid (33 in total), with some being better than others. The most interesting one, in my opinion, is the Backrooms anomaly. However, I do think it was prolonged and should have been a little less tedious. The random chase sequence was also pointless and wasn't scary. The only frightening part was the jumpscare when the grandmother suddenly appears in the wheelchair, though that was kind of expected. I eventually realized that all you had to do was jump on the pipes and then onto the boxes to the left, which is a little dumb. What's even worse is the door-guessing loop, where you have to restart if you get even one door wrong. Thankfully, there aren't too many doors to remember in a row, and it's not that difficult. Even so, that section ends up not taking as long as everything before altogether. Are some of the anomalies subtle? Not really. At first, you aren't keeping track of as many things as you will later on, but as you learn the game, it becomes easier to spot anomalies. It's not too obnoxiou…

Fun short horror game where you get to play as the Rizzler, game play loop was pretty cool and I liked figuring out if I found an abnormality or not. Grandma worked her tits off to make that cake.

For some reason, this game was the reason i died and had a heart attack.

Clearly the game was such a dull uninspired effort, that they tacked on a whole other Backrooms mini game to give the impression of an increased engagment. Do not recommend.

Excellent game. The backrooms level was a hoot.
