Fatekeeper

Game has a lot of potential and it does some things really well which made me want to replay Dark Messiah (god i love that game). Unfortunately, there are a lot of technical issues with the game especially when you get near water and there are reflections and it's barely optimized. It is also missing a lot of basic UI things that will make your life a lot easier. Wait until they release a bigger update that fixes the issues.

I bought Fatekeeper because it looked cool. Ten minutes later, I stopped playing because it has no native controller support. To be fair, the Steam page does not advertise controller support. I missed that before buying. That is on me. It still does not earn a recommendation. This is not a review of the story, combat or progression. Ten minutes is nowhere near enough for that, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. This is a review of launching a first-person action RPG into Early Access in 2026 without one of Steam’s major input methods. The developers have confirmed that controller support was always planned. Their August update says it will most likely arrive with the first major patch planned for autumn. Good. When it actually exists, I will return and update this review. Until then, I am reviewing the game being sold today—not the version promised for later. Keyboard and mouse being the preferred input is completely fine. Giving players no native alternative is not. S Tier First Person Melee Combat

Combat has a lovely weight to it i love smacking a goblin in the head with my ice greatsword and watching them go flying from the inertia or lose a head or limb on a killing blow it's early access but it feels good to fool around in and i look forward to whatever comes next also kick + ragdoll = funi

here for the Rat! yeah, it's cool so far. gorgeously textured world. just next gen all the way graphics wise. pixel perfect high levels of detail. so far the level design has been very quake 1 in its layout style, which isn't a bad thing nor a good thing. just sortof servicable, go here, get thing, go there, etc. game play wise it's a tank version of Dark Messiah. Kick the bad guys into the hole or off the cliff, chop n burn the rest. the dead simple crafting is also welcome, brings a bit of thinking to the resources which i like. the music is great, and i love the rat character. voice acting is good. i think whats missing isn't so much active threat, but a feeling of danger. enemies just sortof run towards you, and i think presentation wise, their inability to coordinate an attack feels like a mismatch for the level of detail. it's not that they're easy, or not fun to fight, enemies just don't feel like they're a part of the world. it's an uncanny valley sort of feeling where, enemies look amazing, levels look amazing, but enemies do not behave amazing. there is a "boss fight" of sorts early on where you fight a group of enemies around a pit. but they seem strategically una…
