Yet it suffers from a certain lack of accessibility & a hard to ascertain obfuscation at the strategy level. Which together with a few bugs causes frustration, spoiling what fun there is to be had. Gameplay gains engaging complexity from a mix of standard & Sokoban influenced mechanics. Hindered by a UI that needs to be reworked to make levels easier to read while pondering solutions. Adding better mouse support to compliment the reliance on keyboard commands would ease the need for three hands to operate controls. Until these are addressed, it remains a [b]FLAWED[/b] experience. Slide puzzle meets dungeon crawler, a surprisingly fun combination. I am usually not into puzzle games but the classic rpg aesthetic and elements made me want to give it a try, and I am glad I did. The rpg mechanics such as skills and a turn based "combat" works really well for this game, and the stage designs really make you think. I would recommend this game for anyone that just want simple game to chill and put their head to work. I got some good laughs with my wife as we argue the best moves to make. I am enjoying this game much more than I thought I would.

Good puzzles, and rather good looking. Unfortunately, no software engineer was available for the UI and an enshitification engineer was recruited instead. Thereupon the thing is a real pain to play; all the good work ends up wasted. It cannot be played with a mouse, and it obviously should be. It cannot be played with a gamepad either; the Steam layout can't compensate the use of random keys (I'm going to give it one last shot if I can manage full customisation before swooning from boredom.) All you get is the rotten WASD scheme with extra random keys, from people who never looked at keyboards and boorishly copy 50 years old bad habits. No options, no config files, no remapping possible. What's baffling is that all keys are permanently displayed on screen, including correctly oriented direction arrows, but none of them act as a clickable button - except for Undo and Redo. What's even more baffling is that the arrows do have a button animation, just no actual effect. It demonstrates a half-arsed port from pocket phones. I’ve been playing Box Dungeons for a while now, trying to complete all the extra missions, and what I can say is that the game really surprised me. For anyone who enjoys puzzles, the difficulty ramps up nicely, with the later stages becoming genuinely challenging. The game has a time-rewind mechanic that lets you fix wrong moves, but as an extra challenge, I’ve been trying to clear the stages without using it, and it has become a real personal challenge. The art style is also really good. As the name suggests, everything is made to look like boxes, but the game doesn’t go for the overly minimalist style some games use. It still keeps a lot of personality, with very distinct environments and characters. The game doesn’t have a huge number of levels, but for the price and the quality of what’s here, it almost feels unfair that it’s so cheap. I hope they add more levels and characters in the future, as the game seems to suggest. If you like turn-based games, puzzles, or dungeon crawlers, this is absolutely worth checking out. Super underrated indie gem.

This game has to have some of the dumbest controls and movement that I have ever seen. Can't click or change the controls. The movement "key" is slanted and the game is just boring. Normally you get what you pay for, but this was not worth the dollar or two I spent.

This game made me rethink my life choices, and made me rage. Smooth and satisfying game, need to use my brain alot lol, 10/10 :) Will defo play more of it!
